How does the debt look like in 4 years with Obama in office? Your passing on problems to your children.

Why does Ron Paul want to be President? It seems he can achieve his ideological goals in a more realistic fashion where he is right now.

Read Ron Pauls plan, he does not touch people dependant on the Gov, that means the old and the sick. His philosphy wants to cut everything, but his position is to gradually do away with it, and pay for it by cutting military spending.

Never gonna happen, not that I have anything against him. And IMO please see below:

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes. BAD - taxes need to go up to support social programs, especially on the rich
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. GOOD
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. BAD - tighter gun restrictions are a good thing
He has never voted to raise congressional pay. GOOD
He has never taken a government-paid junket. GOOD
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. Don't really know what this means.
He voted against the Patriot Act. GOOD
He voted against regulating the Internet. GOOD
He voted against the Iraq war. GOOD
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. GOOD
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. GOOD

all in all not so bad, but a couple of deal breakers for me in there.

You ignore that there are multiple ways to reduce debt. I prefer to increase intake rather than decrease expenditures.

In particular I assert that the solution is not to cut entitlement programs that are aimed at equalizing the achievement gap, but rather tax the rich.

Basically this. I get Ron Paul's appeal, since it's very likely that he takes an uncompromised stand for or against an issue that any given person desires that very few others in the political arena will do so.

The problem is, whatever your "omg Ron Paul is so amazing and different from others because he sees X topic the same way I do!" is - there's a ton of other things he wants to do that are simply awful.

You need your Guns when you want to rebell against a tyrannic Gov, that is what they are for, not hunting rabbits.

Are you implying that Ron Paul (or any other politician) will be able to pass a balanced budget that doesn't include tax increases?

Because if that's what you're implying, you're living on a different planet than literally every other American.

holy fuck can you not read your own graph?

36% of GDP was the high, in 2007 or so. Right now it's at what, 25%?

So yeah, we've had a much higher revenue flow before than we do now. Much much higher.

Only a Paultard can post a graph showing our revenue to GDP ratio is the lowest it's been in 50 years and say it's at an all-time high.

If we increase productivity to its highest rate ever does that mean we stop aiming for more because we've reached a record? No that's retarded.

I can't tell if you're a really good troll, or a really dumb kid. In either case, shut the fuck up and go away already. Every post of yours is some irrelevant abortion of the English language that completely ignores anything/everything that directly contradicts you.

That chart has us at like 1950's levels.......

Ron Paul's wildcard is his opinion of the Fed. 30 years from now he will be the only candidate that will cause people either to say "Oh man we really should have voted for him, maybe then we wouldn't be a 3rd world country" or "Wow, I can't believe we voted that lunatic into office, he ruined this country's economy." I do think we are going to run into a major monetary problem by allowing a private entity to issue currency they make out of thin air. You can only dupe and npc so many subligars before Osodes start selling for 100M.

However, no matter what you think of his ideology even Ron Paul won't change the course we are headed down. Do you really think the millionaires in congress and the billionaires that pay 10,000 lobbyists to caress congress' sack are going to just say "Ok if the American people voted this guy in we should prolly do away with the economic system we have in place that allows all of us to live the lives we want"? We have set our course, the corporations control congress and our policies reflect that. It won't change regardless of who is president.

Having said that, not voting for a president because they are a creationist is as ridiculous as the Catholic Church giving their vote based on one issue-abortion. I don't care if a guy believes he IS Jesus, if he espouses economic and social programs that will help this country flourish he has my vote.

what does that president have to do constantly? make decisions based on large amounts of evidence. Being a creationist is literally like believing there is an invisible unicorn that runs around the streets and causes car accidents to me - There's no evidence for it and we know why accidents happen. It's such basic logic and problem solving that I can't trust you if you believe that way.

    Gdi test....
I am a fan of libertarinism..even if I can't spell it. I like SOME of the things he proposes and I like his character, but these folks are right, he has some pretty crazy views on some pretty important stuff. Thing is I'll probably be voting for him still.
However, I can't really convey the reasons on this tablet, simply because I hate typing on the thing, but I do know this:
Your thread of support quickly went down hill when you started blabbering non sense. You clearly didn't prepare any responses by researching the points/counter points to alot of peoples argument, you just spouted of sillyness.

I'll try to address some of his down falls and how I think they could be reduced enough to become non issues, at least in my mind.

it's funny, but anyone with any kind of background in academia with political philosophy reads about libertarianism almost day one, since it's such an easy philosophy to shoot down compared to other things. It's one of the oldest philosophies, so there is so much writing and lol'ing from different people over the years that it's pretty much just a joke at this point.

Libertarianism just for the individuals, but the exact opposite for businesses. Go.
