There is a difference between being bored, and being bored because you already know too much about the subject to get anything out of the lesson in the first place.

Obvious trolls are obvious. If someone can't figure out that no one here is claiming to be as smart as the kid in the OP but are merely empathizing with the situation because they too felt a small part of how the education system, and their parents and their own motivations could fall short then they are not trying to be a part of a conversation.

I don't think I was ever bored with the material in a sense that I felt I was above everyone else. I really just think I'm a good test taker. I don't get "test anxiety", I usually don't waste time memorizing what I don't have to memorize. I love to utilize youtube lectures over paying attention in class (you can rewind that shit!) to study for tests. Hell, with proctored exams, you almost always know what you're getting into. Even with exams like the ACT and SAT, you know what the material is going to be. Example, probably the most difficult part of the ACT people experience is doing the trig problems. You can learn that in about 3 seconds. SOHCAHTOA. Boom, you just learned trig on the ACT. With all that said though, after this semester, I don't even have a 3.5GPA, but my last proctored exam, Critical Thinking I believe, I scored in the top 4% nationally.

Being a genius isn't really that interesting. It's all relative. I don't blame the school system for any failing of mine, as I'm not a consummate failure. I do, however, blame school administration, the media, and modern American culture for the failure of others before they even had a chance to succeed and for discouraging success in the first place.

Most all of the friends I grew up with don't game, go to church twice a week, and spend 8-10 hours a day under ground covered in black dust. I couldn't be any different than most of my high school peers. Coal mining here offers potential to earn 6 figures without taking a single step into a college classroom. Many took the easy way out.
