Limit Break Items : Seasoned Stone, Fossilized Fang, Fossilized Bone - Info Please

Was wondering if anyone has any precise info regarded where all three items are obtained from.

From personal experience, the stone seems to drop from any Lv90+ mob in the original areas as well as the fang and the bone seems to only drop from Lv100+ mobs. I've only seen the bone drop from The Boyahda Tree and some people have said it drops in Kuftal Tunnel as well.

If people can post their experiences with these items and their drop locations or specifics, I'm sure that info will be greatly appreciated.

    Personal Experience :

Seasoned Stone : Dangruf Wadi, Boyahda Tree, Gustav Tunnel

    Fossilized Fang : Dangruf Wadi

    Fossilized Bone : Boyahda Tree

The drop rate on the stone seems a lot higher with relevance to the level of the mob.

Just finished the quest without any item to weaken him.
setup was pld (ochain) brd whm sam drg war. Was easy until hundred fists

as a note he basicly looses all enmity during hundred fists and goes after whoever generates a high enmity spike for a short time: aka casting cure IV or cure III even. Died on brd during that time when I threw out my first cure IV ever in that fight. no 2 hours used from the PCs

and multihit ws do more dmg on him then one hit ws, i would recomend wars useing rampage or rageing rush. Sams should go with tachi:rana, drg with penta thrust etc. 1 hit WS do crap dmg. tachi rana for 200 dmg (no 2 hours) vs mighty strikes warrior metatron torment.... 211 dmg (2 hour zerg)

pld was using krakenclub which seemed to be better. multi hit weapons + multihit Ws > anythign else

From the skeletons at the top of the map. Got 1 stone and 1 bone off 5 mobs before I had to log last night (th6+), aerys are fun...

edit: just got on after work, it was fang not bone, after lots of kills getting 3 chars 2 stones and a fang didn't see bone once there

Season Stone (high drop rate) and Fossil Fang from Gustav Tunnel (worms + turtles)

Got a Fang from a Blind Bat in Bostaunieux Oubliette. Don't remember the level of that particular bat, but some where checking EM to 95, some were T. That seems to disprove the Lv100+ theory.

Had to run fight a few times till we got our final composition.
PLDx2, BLU, MNK WHMx2 no dual boxing inside the fight
No ochain or aegis, just used defense food and /war defender, the defense is enough to drop his WS's to practically nothing, though note if defender goes down he can Victory smite for 1800. Blue used stun and Multihit spells, the mnk did not use Hundred fist during the runs we won on. Had one pld Invincable during Hundred fist, needs barfire to deal with enfire. First run blu pulled hate and was WSed dead, and one pld died after Invincable wore, blu RRed and continued nuking. Re-ran with a few people swaps and mains swapped to mules, but had same setup, only had mnk die on second run.

A few other notes, enlight does full dmg afaik, and joy seemed to do good dmg, use multi-hit WSs. The taru builds resistance to blu stuns with each stun lasting shorter each time. Hate decayed more rapidly then normal, need dd to take it slow and try not to pull hate as they will get one shotted by WS. Going with 2 PLDs seemed to make biggest difference from not winning to winning, Id assume 1 ochain or aegis PLD would be enough though. If you have MNK Hundred fist, save it for when the taru uses his (@ about 20% hp) and have pld cover the mnk. We did not find using Olde rarabe taile to be usefull, as we couldn't do much dmg to him while he ran around, though did see a group go in with all rngs who I assume spamed the tail on him and RAed.

Edit: Also the taru has significant regain and will use back to back WSs that will skillchain on players.

I got my bone by doing /sea all, changing filter to item, and seeing whos selling them...you'll get it there MUCH faster in the time it would take to farm equivalent gil.

    Testimonials from Wiki

SMN, MNK x2, WHM, Any x2
    Weakness item was NOT used
Monks should sub NIN, or SMN can use Earthen Armor before beginning.
Buff up, SMN should use Ifrit's Inferno Howl before engaging- due to the low cap on damage, Inferno Howl adds a TON of damage during Hundred Fists and can increase the party's damage output by 50% or more. SMN uses Astral flow. Everyone runs in, MNKs both 2hour, SMN casts Alexander. Everyone (and I mean everyone) melees him down. If you're fast enough, you can win before Perfect Defense wears off. If it runs out a little before, you should still be fine, though there may be some death involved. Tahngarthor 00:24, 15 December 2011 (CST)

    BST x6
Everyone should go /NIN and buy a bunch of Dawn Mulsum ( 4-8 ) and bring some food. Recommended pets are Gooey Gerard and Nursery Nazuna. Remember that this is a 10 minute fight, so you won't be able to call more than 2 or 3 pets. Start your pet fighting and stand back. Reward when you can, or use your Dawn Mulsum when you can't. Familiar is a good idea, just remember that if your pet takes hate, you're going to have to feed it more often. I don't think we used the weakness item. --Elwynbelwyn 07:40, 15 December 2011 (CST)

As with most of the new/unexplored content the main thing you need is patience.
I myself spent 5 hours with 3 THFs farming for 6 of us, and that was just to access the fight.
Take time and farm the enfeebling item.
    I'm 0/8 right now. Patience.

The most luck I had was starting off as BST but I didnt have enough gil to fill my inventory with Mulsums.
They're around 30k on my server and by now they're either wiped out or the price is going up.
You've probly seen the records broken upon entrance with 3 or 2 minutes.
My only guess would to be treat it like an Odin(pact to SMN him) zerg fight.

The strategy I'm thinking for the group I go with is
THF THF SAM(w/empy) WHM WHM RandomJob
THFs go in 2hr do as much dmg as possible and while hate is on let the SAM go crazy.
or be really patient and wait for everyone to hit 99 8)

You cannot do over 100 dmg in one single attack, multi hit WS count as multiple attacks. Enspells do well, asuran fists do well, etc.

Are groups merc'ing this yet? I am a casual with no friends left, and I go to sleep at night on a giant pile of gil. Reasonable to expect I can find people willing to sell the items/do the fight? Anyone have an estimate on the pricing?

Can anyone report this dropping from something other than a lv90+ mob in Conquest areas? From what i've read it seems to be the case, but its just an assumption.

Personal experience: killed about 50 lv92-94 beetles in Sau champaine (S) and got nada. Went to Labyrinth of Onzozo and went 1/1 on a Mage skeleton there.
