Best way to this fight without the weakening item?

Friend got WHM BLM SMN at 95 ( of course gonna shout for more)

If you're dead set on no enfeebling item, go DNC or WHM, have your friend go SMN (assuming he has alex), shout for dualweild DDs and a WHM, and PD zerg seems the safest also assuming you don't get an aegis/ochainpld in the shout.

I don't get why people are so dead set on not using the item. It makes things rediculously easier and is easily farmed at the as the seasoning stones.

From my going it overall they seemed to have slightly lower droprate than the stones and yeah you need 1 of 2 items... on the other hand everyone needs a stone while 2 enfeebling items should be enough with at least 2 DDs with good ranged dmg. Hell if you go full manaburn you should win under a minute from the time you enter. No 2hrs so special effort no dmg taken just go in there and spam dmg

I'm a little pissed that the final cap quest is such a pain in the ass for certain jobs. It's basically, luck if you go in with "normal" jobs, manaburn/arrowburn the win, or get an aegis/ochain in for the easy win. Really wish they designed this final fight a little better...

Then, assuming again, no enfeeb item (I still don't see why you wouldn't farm one anyways), she's pretty much gotta come WHM. BLM really doesn't do anything at all to this guy without the enfeeb.

What's mildly amusing me is that it's like COP all over again - been on SMN IN party to get my group through - and getting tells out the ass... it's like seeking on a 30+ SMN in the days when you couldn't dare enter Promy-Holla without 397 SMN all astral flowing.

3x bst/nin 1x smn pretty much ran it through, i used about 4 dawn mulsums. we waited until recast was at 1minute before starting.
one Olde rarab tail during hundred fists, which is pretty much the only dangerous thing.

I was the only one meleeing, rampage > snarl

all three of us were using the slug pet, the summoner was doing whatever

the only thing i did differently than any other battle was use Familiar and Run Wild to start with.

our other member was a naked ?mage with warp 2, he did nothing. and a red mage, also did nothing.

edit: i failed this last night with 3 bst 1rng 1brd and 1whm. no rarab tail. Hundred Fists was the only part that killed us, oh and one of our beastmasters was possibly retarded. used the ladybug, /dnc, and didnt use snarl.
I need to do this again on my mule...

I tried to summarize some strategies here. Is that approximately right?

Yeah except for the ranged dmg thing if You don't need excellent mages to do it with 1 tail if you have a full pt. Hell aside for a couple of shots from a rng the only dmg we had was me chainspelling on 91 rdm and ok gearing. Though I made the mistake of making my ice staff +3 so I had to use aquillo's . And 2 blms who mostly had gear that was ok at 75. And well we almost did it with 1 stone

Went in twice last night and won both times. First set up.

    2 Mnk, 1 Thf, 1 Smn, 1 Whm, 1 Sam

Monk 1 ran in and began tanking the taru. Thf nailed Taru with a few Eviscerations and pulled hate, Thf used PD until Monk 1 got hate back. Taru used HF, Smn used Alex, Monk 2 popped HF. Whm curebombed Monk 2 until he dropped, Taru then ran around after melees. Dropped all 4 melee while at 1%. Smn dropped him with Titan. No weakening item used, we got lucky at the end with Titan.

    2nd run

    1 Pld(me, no Ochain, no Aegis), 1 Sam, 1 Whm, 1 Thf, 1 Rdm, 1 Mnk

No luck involved on this one. Tanked him until 2 hour, Thf used weakening item, Taru ran around for like 2 minutes. Once he stopped, Sam managed to get hate, Third Eyed until I was able to get back. Taru went into insanity mode at about 2% I got dropped after back to back 1500 damage Asuran Fists, reraised but Sam took him down before I re-engaged.

All in all the weakening item helped because it gave us a chance to heal and reapply buffs that wore without worry of getting a fist to the face. But if you're party isn't doing a ton of damage to him, this could end up hurting you since it's impossible to keep up with him while running around.

MNK (Vere85, Brown Belt, Loki's Kaftan: It's about my tenth-best equipped job)
    WHM (My mule)
2 DNC (Not well equipped at all)
    NIN
    SMN

He died about 15 seconds after PD wore, no items used. Easier than I was expecting.

    What I did last night:

    4 BLM, 1 WHM, 1 THF.

THF ran in and used Tail, BLM's hammered away with High level nukes. I didn't check the other BLM's, but I was the only one with the golden egg beater that I saw.

We had 1 death when the second tail wore a bit soon and I had to wait for a nuke to fire to use it, so if you use this method the ideal order should be THF aggro, use - WHM watching for and use and to call, 3rd BLM to use if it lasts that long.

In my experience using the enfeebling item + pet jobs and/or BLM is highly effective. I went with a PUG and BLM and BST absolutely tore it up once it was running around. I imagine RNG and COR would be similar in their effectiveness. Anything that can hit a moving target.
