The first time I loaded up PlayOnline, I got a .hack feeling, obviously I never touched POL for more than a minute after, but I remember that connection vividly.

I enjoyed the PS2 [was it] hack series games. They were all kinda grindy and the fake mmo feel wasn't well done, but i enjoyed them. I kinda believed it was due to current gen limitations back then that was holding the series back. Would be interested to see what a now current gen version would be like

Third time they've announced the game and this time they aren't trying to hide it. The new movie is supposed to come packaged with a game preview or a bit of demo play similar to what they did with Gundam Unicorn. I. Am. Excite.

I wonder how long it will be before we finally do have some sort of headset-based console (or hell, just a monitor) specifically designed for 3D VR gaming. And yea, we've had some kinda tech like that since a decade ago or so that's only been getting better with time, and lately sony unveiled their newest 3D headset or whatever.. But I'm talking about the screens adjusting with head movement and not locked to mimic a big-screen several feet in front of you. That and some kinda hand-held controller in each hand that maybe straps over the palm and is also motion sensitive to the extent of typing on a virtual keyboard in-game.

Sorry to get semi-off-subject.

Until we're cyberbrained a la Ghost in the Shell with full sensory immersion possible, I feel like a headset system would be awful since you'd still largely be using your hands to do stuff. Should such tech ever come about, though, I can pretty much guarantee an epidemic of addiction and escapism, particularly when it comes to porn.

lol yup, although I don't think they could simulate everything with just a head piece. You would need sensory attachments to your body or something sci-fi like that.

No word on it yet, in fact no word on almost anything related to the game. Most of what I can tell from what's been posted and I've read, Haseo's character is involved but there's no confirmation on it being the one from //GU. So.../shrug

Haseo in first form? Is there some spoiler/story reason he'd be back at level 1? I've been replaying all 7 games over from scratch and I haven't finished GU part 3 yet, so I'm not sure if he gets reset again or something like that at the end.

probably not Haseo. I don't remember him having those tattoos.

His face marks changed based on what form he was in, so they could be the same ones. I'm not sure about his shoulders having marks, though. I'd have to pop the first game in again or check the anime or something.

Edit: That's definitely Haseo. The arm and face tats both match up for his first form.

Sony HMD + Kinect for motion/head tracking. Now just hope they release it for PC and you'll be good to go.

I hope they hire whoever does their music, .hack series always has the best ost out of any game I've played.
