As long as the single player experience is enjoyable and even remotely resembles it's RPG elements, I'll buy it. I don't really go into these kind of games expecting balance. There's plenty of other fighting games I can play for that.

Oh no, I agree. That's why it's still in the cards if the single player is solid. But if all it has to fall back on is potential online multi-player running off that engine, it's a huge pass.
