USB 2.0 ports not responding

From the time I purchased my computer the front 2 left side USB ports have not worked. No response from them whatsoever. Up until now, this hasn't been a problem. I'm out of ports to use, the front right ports are broken (fucking headset + foot) and I need a place to hook up my new external drive.

From what I've read it could be due to the BIOS. Lets pretend me breaking the right two has no effect on the left 2 (I'd rather not accept that I fucked up that entire thing).

I went into the BIOS and changed the only thing that looked like it might be causing it; one of the USB options was set to auto instead of enabled. Changed that, saved and exited.

Any ideas? Not sure if it needs a driver now that it's enabled, or if that's even going to help.

The case's USB connectors may not even be plugged into the motherboard's USB headers. Or, perhaps your motherboard only has 1-2 and they're in use by the right ports you broke. I'd crack open the case and check to see if there's a physical connection.

Opened up my case, found the power supply connection to the motherboard for the broken USB's, switched it out for the functioning USB's. Figured out my motherboard doesn't support more than 1 connection (2 usb ports).
