guys innocent people have never needed to hire lawyers or anything to prove their innocence. They just sit there and let the courts do the investigation without ever offering anything proof because they shouldn't have to.
"did you shoot that guy?"
"no"
"you got proof?"
"ya but I'm not telling you, it's your job to get it"
I'm saying once the court is looking at a photo of obviously the wrong person driving, the ticket should be dismissed. Do you disagree? Do you think the vehicle owner should still be subject to the ticket for an offense that the court obviously knows they didn't commit unless they are able to identify the driver?
Ticket the car, not the person. When the car is paid for, then it'll be legally drivable again. So if you want to drive your car, then pay your fee. (or if you can prove someone else was driving, sue them and make them pay).
If you don't want to be subject to the fee, then it's not linked to you in any way shape or form, but good luck getting your car back
you can bring them to court...this has been said several times
How do you know who was driving if you weren't there and there's no face camera?
anyway, you didn't answer my question.
say you get a ticket from an automated camera that has a face camera
you go to court
the judge says "yeah, you're right, this isn't you"
should that be it, or should you have to identify who it is for you to get out of the ticket?
Yes I disagree because this is the entire reason red light cameras are bullshit and you can get out of it even if you did run it and they have a photo of you. Everyone just says, you can't really tell that's me beyond a reasonable doubt or makes up some bullshit about stopping and backing up, etc. You are just pleading for ways guilty ppl can take advantage of the system and get out of tickets because unless it's a perfect picture you can cast doubt. On top of that, now all those people who are also breaking the law, but happen to not be the owner of the car can get away with speeding because it costs too much money to identify everyone.
People are breaking the law, fines are be given out to someone who has responsibility of the vehicle, used to break the law. Good enough for me. I lent my car to my buddy and he broke the law but won't pay for it is pretty weak. Take your faggot buddy to court if 40$ is that big of a deal or brilliant idea, tell them to gtfo of your life.
you realize this only works if it's not you right?
The face photos are usually very clear.
I'm not looking for ways for guilty people to get out of tickets, i'm looking for ways for wrongly-accused innocent people to get out of them. You've made it abundantly clear that you do not care in the slightest if innocent, wrongly-accused people get tickets from these cameras.
'Cause it's your car? Do you fucking leave yours on the street with the keys in it figuring "they'll return it?" wtf kind of question is this?
identity who it is so they get the ticket. Which again, is your own car, so...fuck it isn't that hard.anyway, you didn't answer my question.
say you get a ticket from an automated camera that has a face camera
you go to court
the judge says "yeah, you're right, this isn't you"
should that be it, or should you have to identify who it is for you to get out of the ticket?
only not cars I've ever driven not registered to me are my parents when I was younger. And if I was a fuckwit and got hit by a speeding camera (I don't speed), I'd pay for it. Not that hard.
again you lent the car out to a fuckwit, not too much pity is going to come from me.
So how are you going to ticket those people who are not the owner? They just get off without punishment or are you going to spend even more money/personnel/time to add face recognition software to identify them? Everything you implement for innocent people to get out of these tickets gives another way for guilty people to get out of them too.
One of the reasons you can get out of red light cameras is even though they are usually clear, you can't always get a perfect picture of the face due to sunglasses/visors/hair/tint/etc..
I am merely stating that those innocent people gave someone else permission to use their car and that person broke the law. If they can't get compensation from said person, they can take them court or unfriend them on facebook. There are plenty of ways for perfectly innocent people to get these tickets removed, it just means you have to take your buddy to court and if it's an actual legit reason like my faggot neighbor's kid taped a piece of paper to his plate with my number, then the police should be notified. You get a picture of the car on the ticket, if it's not your car and you can prove it, you can get off.
Are you just looking for a surefire way to get out of speed cameras (even with face cameras)? "Friend was driving, clearly wasn't me. And I'm not tattling on who was using my property that is registered to me and I'm responsible for, so there's no way you can get me or him!" Or just wear a ski mask whenever driving through a speed camera area. "Can't see my face, can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt it wasn't me...no ticket for me!"
Next thing you're going to be calling for jury trials and appeals for speed camera tickets.
It's not my responsibility to come up with ways for automated revenue collection systems to work more effectively. It is my responsibility as a citizen of the united states to speak up when due process is being violated.
I don't care if the systems work as intended as long as innocent people aren't being railroaded.
If you want speeders caught and identified, it can be easily accomplished the same way it has been for human history - with cops.
