Going with parents and sister to groundzero/wtc/911 memorial whatever you wanna call it, and we need a place to eat.
Usually when I go to the City, I go to The Meatball Shop on stanton, and I see they opened more stores (one on greenwich which is more convenient). Since I'm with family, this seemed to be a good choice to eat, even though we'll probably wait a while.
I'm dying to go to Ippudo for ramen, as I've never been... but I don't know how that will be with a group of 4 with people who may or may not enjoy it, and I'm not sure if they will be uncomfortable or not. Last time I had ramen in the city, at a different place, no one spoke english and I'm afraid that kind of experience will be a little awkward for them. If you guys do insist on Ippudo still, suggest what to get (other than the pork buns.
Really, they'll eat anything, as long as it isn't 100$ a plate. We don't want to spend an outrageous amount by going to the homestead or ruth's chris. Any other suggestions or should I go with my first two choices, meatballs or ramen?
I think the wait for Meatballs was around 60minutes last time, but on a weekend, and I know Ippudo gets pretty ridiculous with wait times too. So maybe Italian is a better choice, I just don't know where.
Our trip is pretty much Port Authority > WTC > Food/Rockafeller/Times Square > Port Authority. So anything that isnt too far out of the way of those things would be great. Honestly, I go to the city with my sister all the time but my mother NEVER leaves the house other than to go to work and to the barn to see our horse, so I want her to have a good time and not stand in the 20 degree weather for an hour.
