It sounds like your scanner is shitting out a huge image resolution wise. open that bad boy in paint and press Cntrl+E to see what the attributes are and let us know.

How did you convert them in to a .pdf? Using a PDF printer? (a virtual printer that saves as PDF).
72DPI is fairly small.. no reason it should be 24MB..

I would double check how your scanner is scanning stuff in, or check the application youre using to do the scanning.

If it's not a resolution issue you can download a free image editing program like GIMP and save as a PNG with a tad bit lower quality or something. Though I'm sure Apelila is right about the scan being a big assed resolution.

I just rightt click the file and choose "Convert to Adobe PDF". I think adobe is the program that does it.

Edit: That image is the properties of the actual image file. The PDF itself is 24,189 KB

Problem solved. I did what Seph said about checking my scanner settings. I think I was scanning it as a picture instead of a document. I'm not sure why that made the difference, but it did. Thanks.

Well, from what you posted its the conversion process that was doing it. Notice the size on disk is 230.2KB? That size(resolution) is freaking huge though, it could be reduced 30-40% easy.

Not that it matters now that you've fixed it

Picture option scans with more attributes that increase the file size; resolution, color and not b/w, etc, while document scanning is usually pretty basic since theres no real detail thats needed to be captured unless youre trying to do OCR.
