    Love it.
This is the correct response to all 99 trials.

    This so many times over.

The bigger question is, do you have to be engaged to glow? Or will simply putting it on and standing in town be enough to start glowing?

Second: Do they stack? Or does one glow take precedence over another?

In which case, if a brd equips 99 twashtar, offhands 99 carnewhatever, and uses 99 Gjallahorn... what color do they glow?

Do they stack and the bard glows all 3 of the colors at once...?

Jesus fuck, Urat. You took paragraphs to whine and argue over speculated information but didn't even bother to read the only actual information we have. Genius.

You and Pchan, I swear to god. Did you not read the damn original post? Mythic glow > relic glow > empyrean glow. Red, blue and gold glows. They don't stack, he just said that.

Coming next patch... 36547 Arch Pandemonium Warden's left nipples to be able to glow purple (and yes, there are people who'd do it just to glow a pretty colour).

Daurdabla 99 does not have afterglow listed in its description, nor does Gjallarhorn. Both of these get significant upgrades from 95 to 99 which far surpass any of the known marginal stat upgrades that weapons/shields get in their descriptions (Daurdabla goes from one to two additional songs, Gjallarhorn goes from all songs +3 to all songs +4). I think this is a pretty strong indication that "Afterglow" will be something that is not only graphical, but some hidden, relatively significant stat boost as well, whether it's just for the player or AoE or whatever.

What caught my attention is the Afterglow. (the bolded part)

A Sphere type buff that gives the +attribute and/or ODD of the weapons to the entire party after WS? >.>

I'm just bored, don't pay too much attention to me...

All this speculation about colours and glows…
I’d say it was fairly obvious what “Afterglow” will involve.
A combination of Aftermath and Sphere Effects.

I think people should be trying to figure out what the shared effects will be, and if they effect party, alliance or anyone in range.

Most importantly though, will the weapon’s wielder gain the benefits or will SE do something shitty like sphere effect only on aftermaths?
Could Aftermath possibly be a downgrade from lv95 version (from the perspective of the wielder) – Would be the case if aftermath is turned into a sphere effect. How many people would be willing to spend 100+mil to boost everyone else in the party but nerf themselves?

Duration? Will they give full duration/effect for everyone in range of the “Afterglow”? Or reduced duration/effect for everyone but the wielder?

How will effects work with each other? One afterglow per “type” (emp/mythic/relic) or one total? Will the most recently used one overwrite the previous glow? Inb4 people get stopped using their emp/mythic/relic WS to not overwrite a “better” afterglow (if a mythic 2-3 afterglow is up, WAR’s can’t Ukon, MNKs can’t smite without overwriting it, as an example with multi lv99s in a party)

    Inb4 all been discussed before. If it has, I apologise but don’t recall reading it the other day when I read whole thread!^^;

Hard to figure out their effects if they haven't been implemented anywhere yet. All people will do is useless speculating. And useless speculation does nothing but let stupid people miss-interpret the speculation as fact and will go around shouting that they will do XYZ. All in all, a pointless exercise.

Don't see the point in worrying about what they'll do until it's possible for us to find out. You might want to know to decide to upgrade or not, but speculating wont make you find out any sooner.

Well even if it is a sphere effect the procs with the ws, you're already getting the Add: effect from your ws anyways, so it's not like you're losing anything.

It may just be that you get you're standard aftermath effect and a secondary sphere: that gives the aftermath to everyone in range. I highly doubt SE would add the sphere effect and also remove the aftermath that has been present on your weapon since lv 75.

kinda surprised no one put this up yet, not earth shaking by any means, but we can stop specualting for the most part.

[dev1065] Relic, Mythic, and Empyrean Weapon Upgrades

With the forthcoming version update, players will be able to upgrade equipment to level 99 in two stages:

    Stage 1
Possible upgrades will include damage, delay, and weapon skill damage along with other attributes.
The planned difficulty level for the corresponding Magian upgrade trials will be such that a majority of players with the appropriate level 95 equipment will likely be able to complete them.
*This content is not yet available on the test server.

    Step 2
Possible upgrades will include special animations along with "Afterglow" effects that grant status benefits to party members.
The corresponding Magian trials will be exceedingly difficult to complete, such that only a select number of PCs will be able to upgrade weapons to this stage.
*Gjallarhorn and Daurdabla may not be imbued with Afterglow effects.

    Upgraded Attributes

Please refer to the following charts for descriptions of upgraded weapon attributes:

    Relic Weapons
    Mythic Weapons
    Empyrean Weapons

To test this content, please talk to the Magian Moogle and input the corresponding trial number, as listed in the charts above.

    Afterglow

Upgrading a weapon to stage two will result in the addition of an Afterglow effect.

Afterglow bestows beneficial status effects upon party members in an area surrounding (but excluding) the wielder.
*Party members must be inside the specified area when Afterglow is activated to receive status effects.
The duration for each Afterglow is thirty seconds.
*The effect of a certain Afterglow will be overwritten if an identical one is activated within that thirty-second timeframe.
Separate Afterglow effects will stack if they are cast within the same effect duration.
There are five categories of Afterglow effects:
Relic Weapons: Increased accuracy and ranged accuracy
Mythic weapons: Increased attack and ranged attack
Empyrean weapons: Increased critical hit rate
    Aegis: Reduced magic damage taken
    Ochain: Reduced physical damage taken
Afterglow effects activate when the weapon skill corresponding to the equipped weapon
For Aegis and Ochain, the effects activate when Shield Bash is used.
The hierarchy for overwriting Aftermath and Afterglow effects is as follows:
    One's Own Aftermath: Lv3>Lv2>Lv1>Party Member's Afterglow

    Visual Effects

Weapons upgraded to stage two will display special visual effects when equipped:

    Relic Weapons

    Mythic Weapons
Click image for larger version Name: Mythic.jpg Views: 2150 Size: 48.5 KB ID: 1257

    Empyrean Weapons
Click image for larger version Name: Empyrean.jpg Views: 2167 Size: 53.4 KB ID: 1258

Visual effects will display in the following priority:
    Main Weapon>Ranged Weapon>Sub Weapon

    Other Information of Note

Additional planned features, such as equipment-specific magic spells and pets, have been postponed to allow for more thorough testing concerning attributes, the number of potential users and the process by which to obtain them. One consideration is whether to implement such features as another stage of the above upgrades, or to apply them to a different set of equipment. Also under deliberation is whether to limit the availability of such equipment or make it relatively simple to obtain.

Just want to say that Gjallarhorn @99 is not a significant upgrade, nor does it far surpass anything. Daurdabla 100% shits on Gjallarhorn and Gjallarhorn's only usefulness is to recast the songs that Daurdabla already put up.

Still the best instrument for individual songs. Irrelevant anyway since anyway who loves BRD enough to gather all that heavy metal to upgrade harp to 95 and eventually 99, chances are they have Gjallarhorn anyway.

Besides, we already have 99 harp since 2004 anyway and it's called Brd rotation.
