I don't know why he wasn't benched in at least the 49ers and Browns games during the season, and I don't know why he wasn't benched yesterday. Is it selfishness on his part, or a complete lack of faith in the backups on the part of the team?

Don't agree with 'take the easy wild card', all they needed is one Ravens loss to get a first round bye and home field. Banking on Ravens losses on the road is a pretty good bet.

It's Tomlin apparently having zero faith in the backups. With Ben I think it's just the normal macho "if I'm not dead I'm playing, coach can bench me if he wants to" mentality. Not really his fault, every player wants to be on the field.

I'd rather have my franchise QB in as best condition as possible for the playoffs rather than impede his recovery and risk further injury. The Steelers aren't generally a 1 and done team. He didn't need to play in those games. Not saying him being healthy would have guaranteed them a win, but it would have surely increased their chances in light of other people that ended up missing it.

TO wants to come back too but you don't see him playing. The guy's done, he barely saw play all season and when he did see it he got absolutely rocked.

I never liked him (obviously) but he had a good career back when he was younger. Just glad I don't have to see his stupid face on the sidelines or hear him shit talking around. I'm sure people feel the same way about players from the teams I enjoy though.

Brett Favre tanked the 8-3 2009 Jets by playing 5 games with a torn biceps tendon and being completely awful.

Players are selfish, coaches need to be smarter.
