btw getting past month 3; do you need to just have good grades or do you need to be progressing through the objectives? by the end i was struggling too much so i didn't care to make my second capture, but i was also at almost full panic as well.

I think you have to balance. They set it up so that abductions make it so that you HAVE to progress through the story. I'm at the point where I'm trying to figure out which continent I want to just not worry about. I'm thinking Africa or South America. I want the foundry bonus from Asia. I think my next Satellite is going to go over Japan.

Did my alien base just after my 2nd month, lost a Corporal to a stupid stupid mistake and lost another sqaudmate to just dumb luck on the their part. Jerk ass aliens! So far though, I don't think I could play it on anything but Ironman. Sooooooooo much fun.

On 360, but I have still done that myself a few times. Once I slipped and went one 'step' further than I meant to, right out from behind cover. Stood there and got my face shot off. The other time I pressed Select by mistake and ended my turn ... at a very inopportune time. =(

god damn, how the heck can you keep so much panic down. i win pretty much most battles but shit just seems to pile up. i'm kinda thinking it's cause i didn't tech aircraft enough because in the 2nd month of my current playthrough i wasn't able to shoot enough UFO's down

Alien base destroyed made a HUGE difference. Dropped everything by 2 across the board. I had 2 Red and 2 Orange before that.

This game is amazing, but I'm confused about the xcom series. There was a game called com I think, that was set in like the 50s or 60s that had you fighting aliens. It was first person I think, and I remember the trailer had like black looking orb/too that was attacking a town, shit blows up, etc etc. Is that what this game ended up becoming?
