Except people didn't expect Heavy Rain to be like Bayonetta and such :<
Skip to 45 minutes into the video. Holy. Fucking. Motherfucking. FUCKING. Shit.
30min-50min was the demo.
I refuse to pay more than 10-20 for this, 2-3 hrs of gameplay in a 7 hr long game ....
That's an odd way to look at it. I suppose it depends on what your definition of gameplay encompasses, but it's not exactly inaccurate either.
It's an odd game. A good game, but an odd one. I have trouble saying what it's worth, personally, because after finishing a full playthrough and working on a second one, I'm okay with what I paid. But different people have different tastes, so your mileage may vary.
Was gonna say, that's what Redbox is for.
This seems like a game that would be more enjoyable to watch played on Youtube. GS scored it a 5.5, all pointless QTE and filler combat tacked on to a cool movie.
As soon as I saw the "NOW" I had a feeling there was SSF4 DLC coming. haha
In English now
True end dlc? Oh boy, I can't wait for the future of games where there is no ending at all and its dlc.
At that point I'll be on a permanent one year lag on video games and only buy used games so the companies suffer..
I don't trade in games, pretty much ever. I traded this one in, fuck the DLC, fuck the everything. 60$ for about an 8 hour game total. This is youtube material. Even most shitty games tend to stay in my catalog... Not this one >_> This title should never have been more than 30$ brand new.
Is it True Ending in the sense that all it gives you is a new ending or is it gonna be in the sense of Broken Steel for Fallout 3? That one continued the adventure.
I've been saying for awhile now that I'm waiting on either EA or Capcom to make the move where a used copy of the game isn't even allowed into the final section of the game until they pony up $10.
Granted I'm not sure if that'd cause more outrage than a bad ending -> DLC better ending. Well, the DLC 'epilogue' ending didn't help PoP2008's case though.
Which is why I'm waiting on the bargain bin for this one. Game looks like a hell of a ride, until you hit the end within a couple sittings and shelve it permanently.
Actually got around to playing this and as for it being short? Well, play it on Hard mode. It actually is quite brutal.
I would definitely wait for it to come down a bit in price (which i'm sure it will), but the game will easily run 10-15 hours on Hard and much longer if you are trying for achievements and junk.
As for the DLC ending...
Basically the game plays out as a series of episodes.
Episode 18 is the ending.
Do some stuff and you can get the "True" episode 18 which turns the regular ending into a cliffhanger for the DLC epilogue.
Is this a good or bad thing? hard to say. The *design* of all the episodes practically screams that they had intended for the whole game to be released as a download (or at least significantly more broken up than 1 disc and 3 DLCs), especially since almost every episode opens with some credits, every episode ends with a preview for the next episode (look at what you'll be playing 10 seconds from now!), and a few have an "ASURA's WRATH - PRESS START" title screen at the beginning.
Personally, it's high on my "must play" list, but low on my "must buy" list. (which, of course, makes it a "must rent").
The combat sort of reminds me a lot of God Hand, for some reason.
Now to finish S-ranking those damn "Hard" episodes -_-
Bit more on the Ryu DLC
