If you really want to do some Ice & Fire, why not go with Martin? You don't hear about a lot of Martin's, other than you know, Martin Luther King, Jr., Martin Lawrence, Martin Scorsese and Martin Sheen... no big shoes to fill/be compared to and all.

- Ferris
- Howard
- Brandt (if you like Brandon, want to call him Bran but don't want him to be named like any other of the 100s of Brandons)

If you wanted to be awesome, and keep those PHD initials, you could just give him a bunch of surnames as his first two names, and make it sound like you're talking about a law firm when you say his name, like:

Pearce (or Pierce) Howell Duff.
