Idris Elba, who played the Norse god Heimdall in Marvel's Thor, recently talked to MTV and confirmed that he will definitely be back for Thor 2, and that there's a possibility we might see the character in The Avengers as well, which would make sense. Here's what he briefly had to say,

Thor 2 for sure. Avengers, we're not sure about, but Thor 2 we're going at it again.

The Avengers has wrapped shooting, so if he says he's not sure that he'll be in it or not, it sounds like he may have shot some footage, but he's not sure if it will make the final cut of the film.

Collider interview with Kevin Feige

Filming on Thor 2 begins in three months in London and it picks up where the first film left off in terms of Jane and Oden.
Thor 2 also addresses what’s been happening in the nine realms with the Asgardians unable to use the Bifrost.
Loki has a part in Thor 2, but there will be a different, big villain.
The crux of Thor 2 is continuing the dynamic between Thor and Jane, as well as the relationship between Thor and Odin.

There is also stuff on other Marvel properties

He’s seen an unfinished version of The Amazing Spider-Man and says it is excellent and should quiet concerns over the idea of rebooting the franchise.
They have an option for Whedon to direct The Avengers 2 when and if the time comes.
There are currently no plans to do a new Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo.
Iron Man 3 starts filming in five weeks in North Carolina.
When approaching Iron Man 3, their gut instinct was to not make it be a pseudo-Avengers 2. It’s a full-on Tony Stark movie.
Iron Man 3 is inspired by the first half of Iron Man 1 in that they’re metaphorically putting Tony back in the cave. He’s stripped of everything, back against a wall, and has nothing but his intelligence to get him out.
Feige says there are no plans for Marvel and Pixar to team up on a feature.
Creative talks have been progressing for years between Marvel and Disney about possibly doing a Marvel property as an animated film.
Edgar Wright did not film something for Marvel recently, but Feige says to pay attention to Wright’s tweets in the coming months “and that might change.”
They’re still figuring out how much period flashbacks to include in Captain America 2.
The primary story of Captain America 2 will be Steve Rogers figuring out his place in the world. For the time-being, he’ll be staying with S.H.I.E.L.D.
They should announce by Comic-Con or before what’s coming out in May 2014.
Zak Penn did not write a Doctor Strange movie.
Feige says, “depending on what Edgar Wright films for us” circumstances could possibly force them to make three films in one year.

Chuck's Zachary Levi may be joining the cast of Thor 2. THR reports that Marvel Studios is considering the actor for the role of Fandral, which was was played by Josh Dallas in the film. Dallas has had to drop out of the sequel because he will be starring in the ABC show Once Upon a Time.

Levi was originally slated to play the role in 2010, but dropped out after Chuck received an episode extension. The current talks are still in the early stages, but an offer for the role is likely. Production will get started this July, with Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor at the helm. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins are returning, and Mads Mikkelsen (The Three Musketeers, Valhalla Rising) is in negotiations to play the villain.

Marvel is gearing up to get Thor 2 into production, and they are currently in talks with Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, Valhalla Rising) to take on the role of a villain in the story. There's no word on what villain he'll play, but it's in addition to Tom Hiddleston's Loki who will obviously have a big part in making Thor's life a living hell. Mikkelson will fit right into this world, and I think he'll make a great villain.

If cast he'll join most of the cast from the original Thor film including Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman. The sequel is being directed by Alan Taylor who worked on Game of Thrones, and from what we've heard he'll be bringing that setting and style to the world of Asgard, which will be cool to see.

The script was written by Don Payne, who co-wrote the first draft of the first movie, and Robert Rodat is currently polishing it up.

It's going to be really interesting to see where Marvel takes the future of their films after the epic Avengers spectacle. It's hard not to imagine the Marvel movie universe blowing up from here. These movies are only going to get better and better. They may not be bigger, but they could get better. As of right now Iron Man 3 is currently filming, Captain America 2 is in production, and Thor 2 is scheduled to start shooting later this year. Marvel's also developing two other secret film projects.

Marvel President Kevin Feige recently did an interview with Empire Magazine to talk about Thor 2, in which he explained,

We’re going to see the other side of Asgard. It’s not all polished and golden in this film. And the events of Avengers will have affected Thor for sure. His relationship with Loki will continue to evolve, and the biggest part is Natalie and Thor returning with Jane Foster.

This isn't really any new news, we've heard that director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) is going to take the world to a more gritty place already. Feige then goes on to talk about the villain of the sequel. After seeing the end credits scene in The Avengers I figured that Thanos would be the villain in Thor, but apparently that's not the case. When asked about Thanos Feige had this to say...

No, future, future. But there will be a major new villain. A major, major new antagonist…

First one was enjoyable, liked everything about it other then Thors main love interest, thought she did on par of a cardboard box doing the same role. Hopefully she becomes like her counterpart in EMH where you only see her once in a blue moon.
