http://www.amazon.co.uk/Russell-Hobb.../dp/B000IHYSB2 is the one I have. It's great. Electric kettles are optimised to boil water quickly. When I boil water for pasta or w/e I will put a tiny amount of water in the bottom of the saucepan, then fill up the kettle and put it on - it'll be boiling before the tiny amount of water I put on the stove even starts to steam.

We still boil water for pasta, potatoes, or whatever in saucepans and use the kettle almost exclusively for tea
