Are Assassin's Poulaines +2 worth getting? If so, in what situations would you use them?
Doing Quiebitiel trials soon, anyone know where is a good bunch of Hydra White Mage, Black Mage, or Bard close together to get his pop item? thanks!
How much of a joke is Pandemonium Warden now and what would you say is the minimum setup?
I was thinking double shield PLD/RDM, WHM mule, and a DD to take care of the lamps.
DDx3 WHM BRD COR and a THF to kill through the forms with a SMN mule to use PD on the final form.
When I was farming Quiebitiel I killed the Hydras all around the Batallia Downs area (around the Quiebitiel ??? and around nearby tower, there's a bunch of WHM BLM BRD around there.
You dont need to kill the lamps. They go for whoever had hate on the chair form between NMs. Flash him each time he pops in chair form and pld can easily hold all the lamps while everyone else focuses on the main NM. Pld, dd x2, whm, brd, smn would work as a minimum setup.
The afflictor skill-up thing doesn't really work anymore. It worked before because the auto only had one global magic cooldown, which would always be spent on cursna in that situation. With the cooldowns separated, it will now also start enfeebling the mob, which will eventually pull hate.
Someone on the dynamis thread mentioned that if you keep your auto at low hp it wont try to enfeeble
Buffs/regens should generate threat as well, unless that stops it from casting those too.
If you aggro the mob by /healing next to it, your automaton won't generate aggro unless it enfeebles the mob, like any other "supertank" strategy. The problem is, if I read it right, what needs to be low (<100) is the MP of your automaton, severely limiting the amount of cursna etc repetitions available.
Can you skill up on Zvahl Fortalices? If you just deploy your automaton far enough away from it that it won't take swings at it, and let it cast enfeebles and buffs. It should last a long time, since the only source of damage will be the DoT from Dia.
For drain/aspir, would macc or mdmg magian staff be better? Or is pluto still tops for them?
Dark Affinity Damage staff would give higher numbers and trumps Pluto's (in total drained amount, is roughly 10 less Macc) easily.
Unless you're getting resisted (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.) a lot, +DMG is always better.
Not *needed* but it's nice to have a stun for hydra and khim. Fulmination still hurts, and physical shield right as you go for the kill (if hydra is 9th form) isn't fun.
DDx3 WHM BRD COR | PLD(/war is fine long as you flash or voke PW between forms) RDM/BLM SMN THF
Bully troll-PW so you have less chance of dying to 100fists. DT sets for medusa so EES doesn't kill you.
If THF is real, killing the mage lamps on Mamool/Lamia forms helps keep down the number of aoe's being thrown around.
PLD needs to be fast with targetting and stand out of stun range from the between form mode. Chariot forms will die in 30-45s likely.
Have PLD go twilight once it's actual-PW time, so they can keep it around in the event you wipe. Treat it as oldschool PW at this point, PLD keeps it around (out of ally), DD unweak. RDM(out of ally) pulls off lamps for repeated zerg waves after melee unweaken.
couldn't it be possible for a aegis pld to just straight tank the final form without any death chance? just have people run away when it's close to astral flow. I don't see a buffed aegis taking much damage at all from the nuking/AF.
What is on the most recent test server update?
is today the forced switch day from POL accounts?
