Yes, you can win with that duo. I don't know of spawns though.
Thanks so much for the quick reply Yugl!![]()
You can sleep the adds yes. They're PLDs so might resist and take a couple of tries.
He casts Death so will need some form of Stun, either /DNC or /BLM for the RDM.
Anyone ever fight (or even seen) the Baelfyrs in sky? Just ran into them and the Aura Sculptures tryin to remember the right way to Aura Statues for Diorite, neither bg or otherwiki has any info on either Baelfyrs outside abyssea or the Aura Sculptures. Some of each checked either VT or IT to lvl 99. I was on SAM/WHM after another failed FoV augment, didn't do so well trying to solo a statue.
semi-mathy question:
when calculating stp/x-hit builds, do you drop the hundredths after each step in the calculations, or just off the the final value? for example, say the base tp calculation comes out to 13.36 tp/hit, which is then modified by STP. if i were calculating the tp/hit with say 25 stp on, would i be doing 13.36 x 1.25 and dropping hundredths after that, or just 13.3 x 1.25?
so my question pertains to:
-tp/hit (example above)
-ws returns - multi hit ws, first hit gives normal tp/hit return, with an extra 1 tp per additional hit. for the additional hits, in 25 stp, i'd normaly count it as 1.2 tp/additional hit landed. i guess it boils down to 1 hit (beyond the first) = 1.2 tp, but with 25 stp and 2 additional hits would it be 2.4 or 2.5 extra tp? do those hundredths add up to tenths or are they dropped on each calculation?
You drop the hundredths after the base TP and again after you factor STP in.
The hundredths are dropped after every additional hit for WSs, I think.
thnx, not what i was hoping for, but its what i expected i guess. they stole all my hundredths *shakes fist*
What's the minimum number of people required to kill Proto-Omega these days, and what jobs would be best? Could it be trio'd with NIN/BLU/WHM? I fought it all of once several years ago so I remember very little about the fight. If it matters, we just want to kill it as fast as possible, no need to farm gunpods for coins.
You could probably trio him, yeah. NIN/BLU/WHM is probably a decent combination. NIN might want to spin the wheel and BLU nuke until he stands up at 70%, as he's like 75-90% physical resistant on four legs.
After that you can just murder him. He wasn't even hard at 75. With 8 people at 75 we could knock off 90% of his life in about 4 minutes, and then it was just running him around for pods and hoping a mage didn't pull hate after pile pitch / colossal blow.
Does Tachi: Ageha's defense down get overridden by anything? Also, what does it override?
Maybe worth a second question, but what debuffs play well with each other to offer the max Def Down in VW or for any other NMs that will be added?
Any noteworthy story quest-chains I should dive into? I just finished up the rest of the WoTG nation quests today (ez-mode on 99BST ;/), and am kinda disappointed that I've fully completed all of the main story missions in the game since I doubt FFXI will never see another proper expansion pack in its life time.
Only thing I can think of that I've yet to start is the Serpent General quests which I plan to get around to later this month.
Is Last Stand worth it on either Rng or Cor if you have Armageddon? I only have it at 4/5 so far but I'm really unimpressed.
Currently fighting Akvan. /Sam. Buffs were Coercion/Discipline Lv10, Red Curry Bun, Velocity Shot (Standing in Sweet Spot), Stalwarts, Aescetics and Bravers drinks.
Wildfire averaging 1976 (Bronze Bullet), Last Stand 1642 (Adaman Bullet). Slug Shot 1394 (Adaman) just for comparison.
Excluding mobs with special MDT/PDT who take less/extra damage from one or the other, the only way I can see for Last Stand, or any Physical WS to beat Wildfire is mad Attack buffs. Like Chaos Roll + Berserk on top of RCB and Stalwarts... And to be honest, if it takes all that damn effort just to make it beat a WS that requires no effort to do good damage... then what's the point?
I can't see going from 4/5 to 5/5 being a huge step up in damage. And concidering that swapping out Coercion for Slayer bumps Wildfire up to 2317 (And Monarch's drink replaces Coercion's benefit, giving me a 3hit Voidwatch setup)... I'm really starting to regret wasting merits in this WS. My gear for neither is perfect, the most significant being the lack of Elemental Gorget/Belt for Last Stand... Would 20% Higher AGI WSC and +0.4ftp really add somewhere in the region of 400Damage? Even if it did, it still wouldn't beat Wildfire with Slayer.
I'm aware it has it's use on high MDT targets, of course. But I'm not really sure if that's worth wasting one of three merit WSs on.
Eh, in personal experience if I'm in the party with the Gjallar/Daurab bard, then I'm probably getting enough attack buffs to make Last Stand overtake Wildfire. If not, I just use Wildfire. It's situational, but so very satisfying when it's buffed up. Up to you to determine whether it's worth the opportunity cost in merits, though.
I see thanks, that would put it about equal with Wildfire /Notrdm without Slayer on Rng (Adaman Bullets). Cor will only have Orichalcum Bullets for it, but will have the choice of Berserk. I guess I'll keep it for now as I dont have much better to merit instead and see how it pans out at 5/5 with gorget/belt on Cor with zerk/chaos.
For Rng I'm not convinced it's worth it as I'm never in the cor/brd PT for 2 reasons: 1, I'm the cor. 2: We have like 4 Relic Rangers.
From a Corsair perspective I'm not regretting 5/5 Last Stand. Honestly, in most fights TP comes so fast that I try one Wildfire, one Last Stand, see which does more damage and stick with it as long as it isn't glaringly obvious is was an abnormal resist or miss, respectively.
If you're not diehard Corsair or marksmanship Ranger, however, I'd probably pass on it.
As far as the new weaponskills go, I'm of the "5/5 or don't bother" mentality.
You want to be /war if you want to see worthwhile damage from last stand.
Is there a guide somewhere that describes what you can do on the test server? Are there any other moogles you can talk to other than the ones in your mog house? I was under the impression that they would give you relic/empy/mythic weapons to play with but they only offered me woe weapons.
