I was soloing a few earlier for scraps/tatters, and decided to see how well my blu eva set would hold up, and he ate through my shadows and put me in the orange in like 2-3 seconds, lol. I need to learn Reaving Wind for VW and this shit is just driving my crazy.

9mab valks beat sorc tonban if you have less than +80MAB in gear and traits. Depending on rest of your gear, this could be tonban always, or tonban inside abyssea only.

+40 in traits, so only need 1 of Ultimate or Hell's Guardian on to make tonban a winner inside. You can get >40 mab in gear relatively easily, so the tonban will still have a use, although small.

However: Tonban vs Valk(9mab) in a full-mab, abyssea set:

Goetia+2/Goetia+2/Demon(3mab)/Strendu

+30(Beyond) +50(Hells or Ultimate)

= 40 + 80 + 64(gear total) = +184 total pre legs.

Adding 9mab legs: 3% dmg boost
Adding Tonban: 5% dmg boost

It's about 100dmg difference on a 5500 preleg nuke, in about the most tonban favored place, outside but with same set it'd be

+104 mab prelegs
adding 9mab legs: 4.4% boost
tonban: 5% boost

~12dmg difference at most there, on a 2000base.

Are they better? Yes, but the dmg boost is not (imo) worth it for -1 inv, especially outside.

This may sound like a joke, but I think every BLU who tried to learn the spell agrees. They never aggro when you want them to. So the only way they will aggro is when you are doing campaign, running to the castle, or doing a mission.

You are better off getting it in abyssea.

With an 85 Masamune would Shoha or Fudo be the better WS at 100 TP? Specifically outside voidwatch, and even looking ahead to events like Nyzul. Also by how much? I love Sam but I hate the idea of using a merited WS over an empyrean one...

if all you want is a relic dagger then you don't need procs or TEs. i'd just kill mobs near the entrance, iirc its not packed too too tightly there. the bridge near the windhurst waters zoneline is ok otherwise. theres 4 buildings with stairs going to the top where the ??? for the force pop nms are. a couple of them a fairly link free if you camp on top too
