NIN works well as main DD, he just needs to ensure migawari is up at 75/50/25. Or have a BRD and SMN there for EA/Scherzo but they need to be re-applied before 75/50/25.

Since you're forced to bring 6 usually just nin, healer (usually dualboxed) thf since drops come from odin, typically subbed whm for diaga'ing the adds. Aside from that the rest you fill with are just there to be able to enter with so another heavy DD speeds up the fight maybe brd to get rid of the dread spikes if the thf is stuck kiting adds and can't aura steal them.
Thanks for the replies.
What about Zantetsuken? Does migawari block also? or will the nin have to disengage and /kneel?
Usually I have time to disengage, trick is just timing. Bitch Odin likes to get a random enfeeble-ga off or nuke-ga off while his text is going about zante. I'd probably put migawari up just in case when you do rest it pops a high damage zante on you. Though if you bring that heavy DD as one of the other people, they can just go in and take it down if you mess up and get headchopped.

you can monitor shouts to see what people are doing, and get an idea of the JP v. NA population skews. You can also check prices of items you may be interested in. Jumping servers is actually very fun. NM's that are camped to shit on one server may be totally ignored on another... Argus was a good example back in the day of an NM that could have 10 people going crazy over it on one server and be sitting up staring at the wall on another. Jumping around has got a bit of a stigma attached to it, because I think people used to jump ship to escape problems they created for themselves, but it can be a breath of fresh air into the game. Personally I found Bismark to be the best server outside of Phoenix. Alot of NA players that were really cool, and a very friendly atmosphere in pick-up groups compared to anywhere else I tried. It's a big decision though. I spent some time on Alex, and it was just seriously dead as fuck. That was a long-ass three months lol. I remember there were times when the population was below 800, and you could run through the entire whitegate zone from MH to AH and back to MH, and not hear a single shout. And that was like 2 years ago! I'd put a little thought into it and research ffxiah.
Edit: Also, don't pass up the chance to make some money. Every server's AH is different... if you check out prices before you go and buy some stuff on Phoenix that's cheaper and then sell high once you get wherever you go, it's can be very profitable.
Whats the consensus now on Cobalt Cells? Worth using, or waste of gil?
My friend and I are coming back to the game after a ~2 year break and have a lot of questions about appropriate gear sets, atma set ups, ect. I don’t necessarily mean specific stuff like Berserk up/down sets, just the essential sets we need to get started on the following jobs.
What are the standard gear sets, necessary atma set ups and necessary subjobs for:
WHM, BLM/BRD, BLU, WAR, NIN, THF and MNK
If it makes answering these questions any easier, feel free to link to FFXIAH player profiles ect.! Thanks for your responses!
Thanks I'll keep this in mind, I did notice the Flume Belts I had on me and my mules were only like 80 ~ 190k back in sept/oct when I quit which are now 2-3million+ lol. I definitely do see profit in the AH thing so thanks for the tip on that. Was thinking about Lakshimi I heard was also a good server, though a lot of server specific forums tend to be dead as hell lol.
Depends on the situation, element and beast family you're facing. For random stuff, maybe Falcorr > DY > Hobbes/Slug > Onion/Leech > anything else. For water-based mobs, Gerard is great. For anything where damage is blunt, maybe use the Leech. I haven't used the turtle yet. TH3 on Falcorr and DY of course. Movement speed - Falcorr and Hobbes are fast and I've used Falcorr to kite stuff around, Raphie is slow.
The frog is cute and tastes liek chikn. Hope this helps.![]()
Depends on how you are ranking them too. If you were ranking them for just how strong they are those ranks would be a bit different... it's just Th3 when applicable puts falcorr and DY ahead. So if you got th3+ already who cares. Also they are gimping pet Th so that would rearrange the order too
If TH is not a concern, and only tanking/damage dealing is important, what jug would you use? Specifically, I'm going to duo the final battle of WotG with a BST friend, and she insist that the slug hasn't worked for her as a tank, always dying too soon, but everywhere else I read that the slug is an awesome tank. She used the turtle jug on the previous battle, and tanked the enemies with ease.
So, if we're going to duo that, being my Automaton the "DD" and her jug the "tank", what jug would you recommend?
Can anyone link me to the site that had the stats for the upgraded lv 99 versions of Nyzul gear? Can't seem to find it.
