Well that's kinda what spellcast does... if you want to still use maccros just bigger you'd probably want to use scripts. If using spellcast though you wouldn't have to put anything other than the spell command in the maccro

Hmm... so you have to tie the gear swap to a specific action or ability or am I reading that wrong? You couldn't just have a macro command that would equip gear without firing off a spell or ability?
Sorry for the rapid fire questions, I'm just trying to understand exactly how it works so I'll know if it would be something useful.
You can tie swaps to dummy spells that don't resolve, so you don't need to have a real action or ability to equip gear.
They're talking about some very useful but slightly more advanced features. If you *just* want to equip a set you've named icegear, like:
You'd type "//sc set icegear"Code:<set name="icegear"> <main>Ice Staff</main> </set>
Which works fine if you just want to equip the set at some random time.
Usually you set it up something like
So every time you take an ice-based action, you'll swap to icegear set.Code:<if element="ice"> <equip set="icegear"/> </if>
Edit: It's not a good idea to actually have an if for each element, this is purely for example's sake. Check completed spellcast XML's thread for some better ways to handle swapping based on element
So you could have say an MDT set that you tied to a spell you don't even have, like Cure II for MNK and as long as you have your rules setup properly, the set should swap even though you can't actually use the spell. I think I'm starting to understand.
This is what I was looking for I think. I just wanted to have a single macro to equip a set of gear or to swap between full sets. Something you could use like an 'oh shit' button to swap to MDT set when you have a big spell coming at you or something along those lines.Originally Posted by Radec
I really like that you can set it up for elements and stuff. I'll take a look at that also, but for now I just wanted something simple for swaps. Thanks for all the info guys.
What would be the best Tachi: Kaiten/Shoha WS sets?
Why not siply use windower macros?
Can type:
alias name input /equip head "...."; input /equ.....
Then in game just type
"//name" and it will switch or just bind it to some key macros with for example:
"keyboard_bind !1 name;" and it will switch to that set when you click alt+1;
Can name this set w/e like:
alias s1 input /equip head "...."; input /equ.....
type "//s1" in game to change to it or
"keyboard_bind !1 s1;" to bind it to key.
You can also make several aliases and bind it to one and fire all of them in w/e configuration you want.
Should I tatter my p. abjuration body and go for 2% triple attack on my NQ, or continue to hold onto it in hopes a -1 appears on odin. It's been a year now I've been trying to find one for sale (~.~') Also important- I have 34 p. tatters right now, and my NQ has 1% TA.
Yes they do
Can someone give me a current list of MDT and PDT sets for MNK please? Thanks.
Wiki:
Initially has extremely high defense and magic resistance. The only significant damage can be done in relation to the type of spell Armed Gears uses. It is cured by spells of the same element and takes damage from its weakness. If Armed Gears uses Paralyze, use fire, avoid ice.
Loses a gear at 49% HP. Its defense and magic defense also diminish.
Loses a second gear at 24% HP, further diminishing its defense and magic defense.
What ever happened to the Avatars that roamed the zones in the Scars of Abyssea zones? Like Tejas, Fulmotondro? I see that the Leviathan is always up in Misareaux. But they others in Attowha and Vunk are gone. Do they spawn based upon bastion statuses?
Start at floor 91, climb to floor 100. Exit, repeat. I did it for 100k tokens. You can get pretty good at it.
I had always been told relic aftermaths were 30/45/60 seconds, but Scourge on the test server with the glowy Ragnarok gives me 20 seconds of aftermath at 100TP. Did they mess something up, or is it actually 20/40/60 on the real server?
