Even if it's not an every day use thing, it has a lot more utility than the minor DPS boost that AC gives.

And the enhanced accuracy of multiple AC merits seems rather pointless if you're also going to be using (potentially enhanced) Feint frequently as well. So, 1 merit in AC, 4-5 in Feint, and you're left with either Aura Steal or Ambush. Guess where the rest of the merits are probably going to go? Aura Steal's utility may be somewhat limited, but it's still better than additional AC merits.

I recently got a Hoarfrost Blade and am wondering how strong would Hoarfrost drk with the new WS be when compared to the normal high damage VW jobs like Shoha Sam, Ukon War, and Vere mnk? It has similar stats to a 85 or 90 Caladbolg but obviously lacks aftermath but is that a big deal?

The array of equipment sold by vendor NPCs in San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst has received major revisions. Furthermore, whether or not certain equipment will appear in a vendor's inventory will no longer depend upon the Conquest hierarchy.

Am I misunderstanding that...or doesnt it pretty directly say that conquest ranking wont affect items sold? I'm asking because my WW mule needs mahogany shields for GP, and the NPC isnt selling them because sandy's in 3rd.

Depends entirely on what you play, Yoichi probably offers the most versatility (hateless rng, sam can rng-ish if weakx1) but if you're only ever mnk, then /care?

It also says that the array of equipment sold by vendor NPCs have received major revisions. It's possible they no longer sell Mahogany Shields, regardless of San d'Oria's conquest ranking.

Knowing SE, that statement would still be technically correct if they removed all ranking-dependent gear from vendors.

A Thief Mule is getting Mandau, no other melee jobs. What pieces of gear are going to be a must-have for a WS set that might be out of the ordinary to obtain. I will not do voidwatch for this char, but will abyssea, ks99, sky to get needed abj. Can also buy off AH. Basically Looking for any pieces I might have overlooked outside of AF3, especially for Mercy Stroke.

Well I wound up getting the shields in whitegate, since theres no NPC in bastok that has a NPC that sells shields, and bastok's in first atm. I didnt bother checking other items like a riri.

Do you still need to nerf AV's regen to kill it nowdays? Adds too much time to the kill and I'd rather get these done quickly.
