Script files may not support variables (it's possible they bypass spellcast). You can check if the variable was set properly by typing $docname into the chat - it should relay whatever you set it to. If it does, I'm going to assume that the script directly inputting the command bypasses checking for variables.

Yeah, it does return the txt's name after typin g $docname in chat so looks its the latter of what you said

Are AGI weapons completely useless now? I understand they are if you only do stuff with groups of people, but what about for people that solo a ton? Is there any use at all, or for Nin, Dnc, and Thf would we be gimping ourselves using AGI over STR?

You can create scripts that loop, and you can end them just the same. You only need one TXT to do it, too. I used this in the past for skilling up enhancing:

Depends what you're trying to evade. For a solo setup for Nin/Dnc/Thf/Blu it has uses depending on target ie. the evasion weapon helps bring you to cap (I can't think of many situations offhand where'd you need 2 eva weapons) but for overall damage you'd probably still want at least one of the str path weapons as well.

They're not completely useless, but it's generally easier to get 22AGI/44EVA in gear than it is to get 22STR/44ATK.

And depending on what you're fighting (abyssea for example with certain atmas) you might be eva capped anyway.

I would rather use evasion weapon over str than use evasion atma over DD atma in abyssea unless it is some kind of mix like dark depths. I mean evasion atmas are like 40 so a little less than 2 evasion weapons. While pretty much any DD atma will add more dmg than 22 str/44att.

Which multi-hit paths would beat STR weapons? Gswd/Polearm?

Also are there cases where emp/relic/mythics aren't the strongest weapons for their type?

The subpar emps (mainly Redemption/Rhongo) can be beaten by OaT weapons iirc. I believe Caladbolg is too if you can't maintain Aftermath.

Not too sure vs relic, If I had leveled and really cared about Drk I would probably have worked on either Apoc or Ragnarok anyway.

I agree that 2 would be overkill. For me just starting out, having 1 Eva weapon may suit me until I get some gear. It's also going to depend on the situation, of course. I've just seen so many lolAGI weapon comments it's hard to decipher if it's truth or trolling.

There are a few good eva atmas that have good DD stats.

Like i said, they aren't completely useless. They also have the added benefit of being piss easy to make.

I made double eva daggers over a weekend.

Do weaponskills from ranged weapons(ie, spamming Leaden Salute) count towards breaking latents on melee weapons or am I gonna have to actually use dagger weaponskills to unlock Evisceration?

Weaponskill has to be performed with the weapon that you're trying to break the latent on.

Higher TP return. Spamming with cheap ammo would allow you to unlock faster for minimal cost.
