interesting graph I saw on yahoo

    http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/q.G...l-gross/76.jpg

republicans complain that we are losing jobs, and that we need to cut spending, which costs public sector jobs. but look where all of the job losses have been occurring...

Am I reading that right? The private sector hasn't lost a single job?

overall, no. Since june 2010, there has been a positive gain for the private sector for each month according to government statistics

    In fact, here is another

    http://progressivetoo.files.wordpres...pg?w=490&h=345

Isn't this exactly what the republicans wanted - private sector job growth and public sector job loss?

I'm one that normally has the gut reaction of Bush was an incompetent man along with all republicans, but this graph seems fishy to me. I would like to see it go back another few years for comparison, instead of just the year before/after an election where a new president was going to be in charge.

If you're implying that there were job gains for some months earlier in Bush's term, you'd be correct obviously - the economy was sluggishly chugging along for most of his 8 years.

why is the graph only showing when the economy turned bad and the aftermath fishy? It's implicit in this that the bush numbers are down because that is when the economy crashed. there was pretty good job growth for the most part before that and I'm not sure why anybody would need to be reminded of that

the point of these graphs is to laugh at the republicans constantly yelling that obama has destroyed jobs and has been growing the government at crazy levels, when the numbers show just the opposite

I guess I just tend to see patterns in things. More for my satisfaction that if you go back far enough, that graph doesn't look like a wave with consistent ups and down.

if you have a critique or want to point out where that graph is wrong, go for it. If not, shut the fuck up and get out.

This graph isn't trying to show anything but private sector job losses per month. There's no agenda, no strange numbers being reported. It's what Obama has done since he has been in office with regards to private sector jobs, and the period right before is obviously very relevant to that.

obama hasn't done shit except try to stifle the private sector. all that growth is in spite of him, tbh

Or is this where you tell me Obama is culpable for everything that happens "good" while he's in office, just like he was directly responsible for hunting down Osama bin Laden and executing him personally?
