What I don't get, Minnesota has a population of about 5.3 million people and only 50.000 people voted... That is 1%. Why does "the" 1% get to decide who gets the nomination???

They don't. The Minnesota primary awarded zero delegates and the people knew this, but rather than cancel the election to save money they decided to just let it happen and not waste time voting. They're going to properly caucus in March. Something about the RNC not liking certain states moving their primaries up and threatening to void their delegates if they went through with it. I can't find the story that pieced it all together, but it's out there if you google it.

Eh, to me, it's more along the lines of him finishing off his father's legacy of attempting a Presidential bid. The man makes damn near 400k/year doing nothing and his Presidential wage for life after that would boost it to over 700k/year for 4 years of hard work. People don't care because idealist candidates like Obama and RP abandon their message the second they get in office. It's not that they're bad people, it's that idealism doesn't stand up to the harsh reality of the system. In other words, it doesn't fucking matter who you vote for because the power base has shifted.

this isn't a fair statement to RP. obama dropped the act immediately upon entering office because he's a crooked illinois politician. RP has pretty much done everything he promised he would try to do during campaigns. I don't like him but it's disingenuous to challenge his consistency.
