Santorum is one of the most vile and disgusting people I can recall to run for any high ranking political office, much less president. A year ago, I thought it couldn't get any worse than Bachmann, god damn I couldn't have been more wrong. I almost wish he'd win so I can squeeeeee as Obama crushes him in debates...but even the slight potential of him winning the presidency scares the hell out of me.

Bachmann just comes off as anti-gay, which I suppose I can live with. Hell, even Obama stayed away from the gay marriage issue during his first campaign. Santorum, he just wipes his ass with the constitution. I can't see Bachmann saying that women should have to keep their rape babies and the separation of church and state make her vomit. Maybe she thinks it, but I don't think she'd go that HAM politically. Maybe I'm underestimating her. I just can't imagine a more irrational person than Santorum.

Never doubt the retard potential of the religious right. They've gone full retard and decided that it wasn't enough. He's still in the race when saying that “The idea that the Crusades and the fight of Christendom against Islam is somehow an aggression on our part is absolutely anti-historical,” Santorum said in Spartanburg on Tuesday. “And that is what the perception is by the American left who hates Christendom.”


So yeah. It boils down to the notion that Santorum is a new age Crusader who wants to send America back into the Dark Ages and he's still a potential front runner for President.

Sometimes I think Santorum forgets this is a race for the Presidency of the United States and not for Grand Inquisitor circa 1483. But what a damn good Grand Inquisitor Rick Santorum would make.
