Could you imagine if it went to the general and he wasn't on districts lol. But they lack some major organization.

Santorum's case is what it is, radical conservative social doctrine coupled with a populist economic message

Romney has nearly 100 more delegates than all the other candidates combined winning well over half all available delegates and he should destroy the competition in April when liberal / moderate states dominate the proceedings with Maryland (37 delegates), the District of Columbia (19), Wisconsin (42), Connecticut (28 ), Delaware (17), New York (95), Pennsylvania (72) and Rhode Island (19) voting. in April party rules also allow states to award delegates on a winner-take-all basis, while the remaining ones in March are proportional so even competitive losses increase the delegate count, which enhances Mitt's advantage

there are a few southern states that vote in March and if Santorum can take his home state of Pennsylvania he may be able to stay in the race but the math makes his cause hopeless if Romney runs the rest of the table, as he should

i imagine it will be over by May

Newt falling asleep at the AIPAC policy conference and other hilarity. LOL

    Via MW:
This video is making the rounds this morning. It shows Newt Gingrich falling asleep while waiting to speak to the AIPAC policy conference (he was up after Leon Panetta). It was a highlight for me watching yesterday, and I didn't even know Gingrich had fallen asleep. The moment I realized he was just going to wing it off script was by far the most entertaining moment of the day ("here goes nothing!"). Unfortunately, he has the "threat of radical Islam" so hardwired into his stump speech by now he was able to just play on through. Play this sound effect from 1:21 to 1:31 of the video to catch some of the atmosphere in the room.

Just when I think religious crazies can't get any more fucked up, I have to be proven wrong yet again. Seriously if my some whacked out reason he becomes president, and the supreme court doesn't stop his craziness, I may have to look into relocating.

imo santorum has no shot at the presidency, none. he is way too far to the right socially to make it. there's a reason obama's camp wants santorum to win the republican nomination and is actively seeking to make that happen. so, in a weird way, I'm actually less worried about him than I am about mitt romney.

Santorum is polling way ahead of Romney in Wisconsin right now. Just because it's a "moderate" state doesn't mean that the tiny sliver of Republican primary voters aren't terribad.

Also, since when does Santorum have an economic message?

I thought I read somewhere a week or two ago, but it also may have been spin that Santorum was polling above Obama.

    It was me.
Honestly? Not so sure. Maybe some of the people who are still hemming and hawwing about voting for him will overlook his lack of economic plans and focus on the fact that OMG OBAMA IS BLACK AND SOCIALIST AND MUSLIM.

    I'm just concerned

One can argue that not having one is a message in itself.

His economics plan is that if he gets our values back to where he thinks they should be that the economy will follow suit.

If Ron Paul feels that he isn't being treated fair then he should run as a 3rd party candidate on principal.

I think RP would actually take quite a number of votes from both sides. Not just R.
