What it comes down to is that students would often rather pick an expensive school and cry about their debt later instead of choosing a more affordable option in the first place.

harry reid has to vote no on bills to be able to reintroduce them later with majority leader powers. it's a weird feature.

That's if you live in state and also don't live on campus but at home.

Often because college is a popularity contest where the location of graduation means more than what you take away academically from the experience. I mean, who actually goes to learn things?

I love this concept that a Republican President wouldn't of done the exact same fucking thing.

How utterly dishonest the SuperPAC is called "Veterans for a Strong America". Because they're totally not trying to crib on "Veterans for America" or anything.

I've said that we should be careful of the unadulterated force of Super PACs this cycle, and how Obama doesn't have this thing locked away. If this is the kind of highly-charged horseshit they're producing, well...

Yeah, it's tuition. Get a job if you need extra cash for rent and food. And at least a couple on that list include out of state tuition, not to mention a ton of states are covered on that list.

Tuition increases are a problem, but noone has to choose a 20k+ a year university.

Why more people don't go to community college for their first 2 years is beyond me.

Because they're told it decreases their chances of getting into grad school or that a full four years pays better.

I honestly don't think it matters, maybe it's because I have work experience and whatnot but I'm only going to school to go to school, I don't really need to nor have I found where I go matters. The same people will try/want to hire me as before.

    Which is utter bullshit.
At the CC I went to, if you met the minimum reqs, your odds of transferring and getting in to UCLA/USC/Stanford/etc. were HIGHER than if you tried getting in straight at 18.

If you work 15 hours a week for $8/hr over 5 years you'll pay for your entire tuition while enrolled.

Hell, I only have a 2 year degree and it usually takes me 1-3 months to find a job when I'm looking. It has more to do with field than anything else.

No student loan debt in undergrad, but if/when I get accepted to an anestheisa program, I'll make up for it rather quickly d/t not being able to work for 3 years while attending.

We have programs here that pay for your school as long as you work for the state afterwards. Grad school isn't an issue for most people if they pick the right field. Undergrad is really where most of the problems come from.

We have hospitals here that will do the same as well as provide insurance while you go through school. You also have to work for that hospital after school, usually for a couple of years. Thing is, if you opt not to do that, you have a million offers before you graduate and tremendous signing bonuses.
