you go girl
I bet the manolos look funny on your skinny hands
I'm going to propose and open up a large box to a pile of graphite instead of a diamond. Then I will tell her that all diamonds are undergoing change to eventually, over millions of years, become basic carbon and this box of graphite represents that our love will last for millions of years. Then I will go and high five my reflection in the mirror for having saved on buying a diamond while being all romantic and shit.
that's not bad. Mine's a bit under 1 ct, i didn't want anything too large to wear to work (big rocks can cut medical gloves up) and honestly, trying on rings that were REALLY big (which to me is 1.5ct) made me self conscious. Mine is a cushion cut, an old fashioned type which is exactly what i wanted. I don't like flashy and I don't like overboard.
Luci, i really liked this photo, but it isn't of any people's faces, so i felt weird about posting it on fb.

It's really not that big, the pic makes it look larger than it is. Like you, she has skinny fingers (5 3/4 ring size) and was pretty offput by a lot of the larger stones we saw (to my relief). She likes the vintage look of the halo (lots of tiny diamonds surrounding the middle one) design.
that's a lot of pencils
$6k+? Yeah, no, she's not getting a trinket worth more than my car. brb, breaking up
buy her a fake. if she ever tries to test to see if it's real you can just call her shallow
Yeah mine is cushion cut too. For size comparisons:
http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/fi...121c15c2c_.jpg top to bottom is 1ct, 1.2ct, 1.5, 2ct.
lol, i drive a beat-up 2003 nissan sentra, i could probably trade it in for 50 bucks.
for the "rich" comment - people like solanis or wop would chuckle their ass off at "only" 6k on a ring
although i guess neither of them will ever have to worry about that...
I think I'd be setting myself up poorly by adding in having to bust my ass to make payments on a financed ring onto possible reasons to resent the person I just married
