You can't feel it. Also Linny is right, it is: anyone who says they can feel it, that shit is all in your head. Look at one before it gets put in and you'll see. Shit is impossible to feel with a penis.

Got mine without anesthesia as well, the actual procedure wasn't too bad, but I was in quite a lot of pain the rest of the day so if you plan on having one, definitely take a day off.

I haven't had it for all that long and while I still have periods they're basically painless and much weaker. I'd definitely recommend it.

And on the feeling part, I haven't had any complaints.

Did you deliver my message for your ex? I forget what it was. I just remember I had one when I was sleeping the floor. I don't even remember if I slept on a mattress. I think it was just a floor. They told me to take some tylenol before i came in for the procedure, what a fuckin joke that was, then they couldn't get the original one to OPEN once it was inserted so it kept coming out. Took a lady 5 tries and then another try with a REPLACEMENT one to realize the initial one they tried was defective. Meanwhile I'm laying there trying not to vomit.

Not my best day, over all.

Double checking on this: Ryko says he's never felt the string even when concentrating on trying to. So yeah, whoever said they could feel it is dumb.

Oh man, I don't even want to imagine what it must have been like. Mine was really smooth. They generally don't want to give them to women that haven't had kids in Sweden, but with my blood condition it's really the only decent option I have.

They actually told me at the doctor's some men can feel the strings, but I guess the only time that would be possible was if the doctor cut them too long.

Twilight sleep is awesome, just btw. Knocks you out for 15 mins, makes everything nice and easy. Well worth the $250ish I spent all up. (Cost of the insertion + IUD itself was free, just the anaesthetic wasn't cos it was "elective" - thanks Australian Medicare!).
