I don't know if I'd say all the other ones are insignificant. Slott has definitely been upping Phil Urich's profile of late.
I'd say after Dan Slott's said and done Doc Ock might take #1 nemesis away from Green Goblin.
Although I have a feeling Green Goblin is gonna be responsible for getting Peter back somehow. I don't really want Peter back though. More Spock and give Miguel his own book again.
Superior Foes was a fun read. I think it's underrated, like Secret Avengers. Both are well written and great characterization for all involved. I'm starting to already tire of Charles Soule. Maybe he's spread to thin with all the titles he is writing but Thunderbolts has been boring. And the artist...holy shit he is 4 shades of awful.
This was about the only issue of Foes I enjoyed to read... I struggled through the first 3.
Same stuff everyone else said. There's also the "historical" impact of him offing gwen Stacy. A villain almost never manages to kill anyone and having an outright victory like that for the villain was unheard of. previously Doc ock was the premier spider-man villain and had even managed to kill Captain stacy(Gwen's dad) while pinning the blame on spider-man but Osbourne managed to permanently steal that spot despite being dead until the 90's.
He also experimented on Harry (as you've no doubt learned), kidnapped aunt may and had her replaced with an actress so that she could die for the sole purpose of fucking with peter, all that clone bullshit, sucessfully kidnapped MJ and Peter's baby,(she was never rescued and even with omd she still technically exists as noone wants to bring up that story) and other miscellaneous things to constantly make Peter's life a living hell. He goes beyond usual supervillany and straight into I'm going to just fuck with you.
Then add in that horrible sins past story where it turns out that Gwen was sleeping with Orbourne behind Peters back, got pregnant with two kids, AND had to top it off had never put out for Peter.(this is due to quesada being a bitch like always and thinking it would "age Peter" because he generally seems to want things to be how it was when he was a kid.( which is a prevalent problem in the industry atm. You have the entire industry filled with people who want to "fix" things to how it was when they were kids and remove all growth. which is why quesada forced spider-man to sell his marriage to the devil. sorry for that rant)
Basically if something shit happens to Peter it probably involves Osbourne. Doc Ock has ALOT of work to do to beat Osbourne despite managing to murder Peter.
Kingsley was a cool goblin. he basically was the smart one that retired to a tropical island with his loads of cash and was never seen again until Dan Slott decided to get him killed.(I think that turned out to be his brother though for some stupid reason)
I'm actually surprised he's ranked 13 on spider-man's enemies when the top 2 are generally agreed to be Osbourne and Doc Ock.Honorable mention for Mephisto on making OMD happen since that alone puts him in the other guy's league of sheer villainy vs spider-man and probably above,Venom, and JJJ constantly making supervillains to capture spider-man.
I never appreciated Osbourne until he rose up during Civil War. Him becoming the Nick Fury of the United States only to use his position to still be a super criminal and fuck with the real heroes was inspired.
That's not really how it went imo. What he did was do what you see red skull doing with Mutants currently. He used logic.
All the stuff he was doing at that time (since he was relatively sane) was because he looked at what going on and honestly thinks that one day those heroes are going to cock shit up. In marvel time it's barely a month before some mutant gets barely stopped from killing everyone. The same with the Hulk's rampages and everything else. Every other day is a near death experience for the planet. He looked at that and thought to himself that one day one of their fuckups is going to work and it could easily be right now. He was trying to find a way to make the Marvel universe more sane and in control but then Loki started fucking with his head so that he stopped taking his meds and it spiralled out from there. Sure he's usually a villain but this was him actually doing what he believed was right.
That kinda says something about the state of the Marvel universe right now. The villains are now capable of making reasonable arguments for why mutants should be gotten rid of before mankind dies and you dont have to be racist to agree with it anymore. Not even 3 weeks ago in marvel time Cyclops tried to kill the entire planet. He outright boiled oceans and caused damage that should have resulted in the loss of at LEAST hundreds of millions of lives if not the extinction of all life on the planet.
Plus the phoenix kinda killed off dozens of planets with sentient life for shits and giggles to arrive there to restart mutants that could have come back if cyclops didn't destroy the solutions to Wanda's spell being broken at least 3-5 times.
It's no wonder the aliens in all galaxies HATE Earth.
Legion is about to kill everyone. Battle of the atom is more people fucking with shit and has helped cause a massive omnicide in the ultimate universe due to Galactus arriving there since everyone was too stupid to stop fucking with time travel.
Um, if you read the World's Most Wanted arc in Iron Man, Normie was batshit insane and up to no good the entire time, he just kept it together in public.
Depends on the writers and there was heavy tampering via Loki as I pointed out. He was oscillating in and out since his meds were slowly wearing off and he thought he was already going nuts ahead of time.
I think you saw the motivations you speak of in the X-men comics but i'm not sure since it was spread out all over.
As soon as he took power the dude was hanging out in a backroom with Dr. Doom and the Hood. Not like he had good intentions hanging out with that crowd.
Lazarus #4, Rat Queens and East of West were all good, about all there was to note for me. Saga is always saga, very good.
