Yeah I just read the first Velvet trade a couple days ago and loved it.

Damn, I loved the Guardians movie so much I'm thinking about catching up with the Bendis series just because I want to read new stories with those guys. Should I do it?! I think I only read the first 6 or so.

The series is everything wrong with Bendis. I've taken a peak at it (OK downloaded off piratebay) every couple of issues and it's stayed pretty consistently terrible.

That said, considering the movie messed around with the characterization of the cast, it might be more palatable now since there's at least a recent not DnA/Giffen version of the characters to pull from.

If not DnA I think Jason Aaron could do a solid job. The way he wrote Wolvie and the X-Men would work well for GotG

Not a big fan of Kev Walker's art in it, but New Avengers 22 is just ramping shit up even further.

Also, Superior Spider-Man has a new issue this week (it's a bit of a flashback issue, but it's still some Spocky goodness)

Lot of interesting news today about AXIS with act two being titled Inversion. Remender taking the Marvel universe and kind of flipping certain things about characters around. Carnage being a morally upstanding citizen for starters should be interesting to see.

The one true Apocalypse in issue 4, not Genesis turned into Apocalypse as had been expected though both are expected to have large roles going forward and a big shake-up in the X-Men titles again. Cover art shows Cyclops hanging out with Havok, Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler again with Apocalypse in the background and a Kluh version of Hulk at the bottom half. Not sure if a new Horsemen version of Hulk or something else but it is a twisted Bruce Banner less Hulk.

Apocalypse

. Remender has been building on it for years.

Consider both of the Big Twos propensity for constantly wanting to reboot everything, it's really damn impressive that Remender and Hickman have been able to keep these storylines running for so long thru multiple titles.

In Remender's case especially since outside of Cap EVERYTHING is still tied into the very first story from UXF.

If Axis reaches anywhere near Dark Angel Saga levels it will be the best event Marvel has had in ages.

I have high hopes for AXIS. The two things that Remender has had appear a lot in his stories are the Apocalypse legacy and The World/Father. I'm hoping to see that crazy old man soon.

Plus having Peter Quill make fun of the giant space bullet, which though I love Joss is about the most campy x-men thing ever
