Not to mention buying the rights back isn't even a real option. No chance in hell that Fox or Sony sells all the rights back on x-men or spidey...those franchises are worth more money than they could ever sell them for realistically. I figure they will eventually enter into an agreement of licensing or distribution with Marvel/Disney, but it will take years for that to happen more than likely.

Seems Hawkeye is coming to an end soon. During one of the panels at NYCC they stated that you'll be seeing more of Kate Bishop after Hawkeye comes to an end. Didn't give any further details than that but said there would be more news later.

so judging from the random blurbs and headlines i'm seeing NYCC really stepped its game up this year. Looks like a lot of decent panels with actual star power. it isn't just Carl from the Walking Dead anymore. Pretty bitter I passed on it this year

Not cancelled after all but is being relaunched with a new creative team, Jeff Lemire writing and Ramon Perez on art. Fantastic Four on the other hand is done.

I wish Marvel would stop relaunching series every time they change creative teams. Seems a recurring theme since they launched the Now campaign.

Can't blame Marvel, because they are selling books doing it. (but that could be due to quality more than MOAR NUMBER 1S!)

Definitely a quality factor. I can understand wanting to reboot a series in line with a movie release to draw in casual fans, but just rebooting a series for the fuck of it is kinda dumb.

#1s definitely sell more, regardless of quality. People will check out first issues a lot.

I do remember certain customers at my LCS that would want every #1 and #2 when they come out, regardless of interest.

Yeah lots of new Spider titles coming out. Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman, Silk, and Scarlet Spiders limited series featuring Ben Reilly, Scarlet Spider/Black Widow from Ultimate Universe, and probably the current Scarlet Spider as well.

I have a couple friends who buy 1-10 of everything for DC/Marvel. They are hardcore collectors though...one cat has a storage unit with about 200 longboxes. I only buy characters I love and runs that are my favorites. Don't have room/time/energy for a full on collection like that.

Nowadays I only buy stuff in physical form that will likely have value down the line. Otherwise digital or just grabbing graphic novels later on.

I think they're just rehashing the original one and this will be out of continuity. The promo image they showed is all those characters in their incarnations at the time, and I don't think we'll be seeing Iron Spider or Extremis era Tony any time soon.

With Tony showing up in Cap 3 they're probably just setting the groundwork for casual fans to know what's coming.

So Atlantic City Boardwalk Con was announced like 8 months ago iirc, but this rumor might have the con pick up steam.

I wonder if a potential Marvel presence that large is, at least in part, due to DC moving to Cali.
