Hickman is just great. Reading Avengers reminded me of the long story he is telling and it has a lot of moving parts. A fucking army of Shang Chis.
I wish Marvel could just clone Hickman and Remender and have them write everything. Ok well leave Slott on the Spider Books
Marvel has a lot of good writers. I love both Hickman and Remender, but if they wrote everything, I might kill myself. Need happier books like Ms. Marvel too!
I really enjoy Jason Aaron as well.
That's what Slott is for!
Though in regards to their writers Jason Aaron is pretty consistently good, and Deconnick does do a good job on Captain Marvel. I'm mostly just disappointed what happened to the series Remender and Hickman were working on after they left. X-Force and Fantastic Four comics went to complete shit after they left.
And you know, Fuck Bendis.
Just leave Bendis to Miles Morales and I'm sure most people would be pleased (note: I actually enjoy his ANX/UXM runs right not)
KOREAN SUPERHERO WHITE FOX TO JOIN MARVEL'S AVENGERS
ICv2 has reported that a superhero introduced in a Korean webtoon will be making her way to the Marvel Universe. The Korea Herald has a translated transcript from an interview with Marvel's C.B. Cebulski where it is revealed that the original superhero White Fox will make the transition from a webtoon created exclusively for the Korean web portal Daum into the main Marvel Comics continuity.
Based on the Korean myth about a nine-tailed fox, White Fox has been appearing in a series called "Avengers Electric Rain" by Korean cartoonist Young hoon Ko. The character was originally created by Ko as part of Marvel's attempt to experiment with Korea's popular webcomic format that presents serialized stories in a vertically scrolling format. Six installments have been released so far, with White Fox's origin scheduled to be revealed in the ninth.
"The character has proven to be so popular that we’ve decided to take it from Korea," said Cebulski in the translated article. "She’ll be joining the Avengers characters in the U.S. comic series... My hope is to bring ['Avengers Electric Rain'] from the Korean language into English and use it as the launch of a webtoon model in the U.S."
You can get a glimpse of White Fox in the below promo video posted on MarvelKorea's YouTube page.
Interesting. I would have preferred it to bloom into it's own line similar to how Marvel once had it's Marvel UK line but it's always cool to see new heroes before Marvel inevitably tosses them away.
As for the writer talk. There are two core problems at Marvel.
One is that writers tend to get put on stuff they aren't very good at writing. Bendis(and alot of their writers) has a very specific skillset when it comes to writing.
The second is that their editors don't do shit. they don't even spell check let alone make sure the stories make sense.
See the entirety of Bendis's GOTG run, Reed Richards declaring there is no God or heaven or hell when he's been there and met God(Jack Kirby), convinced him to bring Ben back to life, and the several Hells are KNOWN as physical locations/ pocket universes, Occasional bouts of people changing race, and so on.
Slott used to actually be a good writer but now he seemingly gets off on fan-tears.
There's also that famous tweet about the angrier they make fans the more money they make.
It's probably reaching the point where that old trick isn't working on their fans anymore with stuff like Avengers Arena bombing like hell when Marvel finally found the line where people get too pissed off to actually buy comics.
Fuck the haters, I loved Avengers Arena.
I also loved Avengers Arena. But Avengers Undercover was not that good.
Avengers Arena just made me want Runaways back ; ;
Also, fuck was there a lot of stuff to come out this week.
Undercover held my attention enough to read the whole thing, though it was almost entirely because of investment from Arena.
Did anyone read Spider-Woman? Other than Land art, how was it?
