I haven't been impressed with AvX. Saw the story coming years ago as it was heavily hinted at since Messiah Complex. Sorta sad it is so cliche.

Agreed, which is a shame because the previous issues I thought were really good and then it's just... over. That whole tree of life thing felt pointless. Just gave those characters something to do while the big boys did there thing.

No joke. I totally forgot how much it made the ancillary characters pointless, haha. It just kind of deflated any tension that the series hard worked so hard to build up. It's a shame. I still can't find a copy of Incorruptible #30.

    Earth-2
    Spoiler: show
Jay Garrick-centric issue. I thought him getting his powers from Mercury made sense, well more than hard water vapors. There is also a little bit of Mr. Terrific. I didn't read Mr. Terrific at all. Was he from Earth-1? I thought he was the bf of power girl, but idk. There is also the Alan Scott is gay part of the book, which I guess was spoiled by everyone and their mother knowing. Also, another Earth-2'er shows her face. Will be interesting to see if this is the Hawkgirl everyone knows or a different one. I think issue #3 has the real last amazon. Everyone is saying Donna Troy.

    Dark Avengers
    Spoiler: show
So Luke and Hank Pym sort of find the Thunderbolts, but need a more exact date. Some government agency is like "ha, we got these new guys that were Norman Osborns Avengers. They kicked your butt sort of, so we are gonna control them with new nanites. Sorry Luke, if you can't play nice with them, you're out." Luke goes emo, then gets Skaar and bosses up and takes control. It's kind of a fun book, actually.

    X-Factor
    Spoiler: show
This was a weird issue. I really liked Rahne having to deal with all the shit she has had to go through. Between eating her father and shunning her demon baby, it was cool to see her cope. I also liked Lorna channeling a bit of Magneto in bossing her around ruthlessly. However, some of the dialogue was kinda bleh. Peter David usually fits in references nicely, but some seemed too forced.

    AvX stuff
    Spoiler: show
Can we just all agree that whatever side Tony Stark takes on a subject is the wrong side? I'm gonna blow up a cosmic entity with a giant gun! Nothing can go wrong there!. I do like the Phoenix costumes for the most part, except Namor. Also, if this means no more retarded Juggernaut Colossus, I'm all for it.
Uncanny X-Men tie-in was ok, nothing groundbreaking. Glad an artist other than Greg Land is doing it. Avengers Academy was so bad though. X-23 being the mouth piece is so off for her character. Faking a fight so the X-Kids could run away was stupid as well. Whole thing was worthless.

I'm just tired of the Phoenix force. Only thing that could redeem this creative backwash is Cyclops going after Hope as his consort. Shit would be hilarious.

DC Comics announces #0s in September
TALON - Writer James Tynion IV with co-plotter Scott Snyder. Artist: Guillem March.
Meet Calvin Rose, the only Talon to ever escape the grasp of the Court of Owls. This former assassin of the Court is trying to live a normal life ... but that’s impossible when he’s being hunted by his former masters!

SWORD OF SORCERY – Writer: Christy Marx. Artist: Aaron Lopresti.
Featuring the return of Amethyst, Amy Winston leads a strange life on the road with her mother and resents it. She’s about to learn it’s all been necessary when she discovers she’s the lost princess of Gemworld—and she’s being hunted by her murderous aunt. With a back-up story written by Tony Bedard with art by Jesus Saiz, set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, the monstrous warrior Beowulf is charged with finding and defeating the evil Grendel.

THE PHANTOM STRANGER - Writer: Dan DiDio. Artist: Brent Anderson.
Spinning out of his recent appearances in JUSTICE LEAGUE and DC’s Free Comic Book Day story, learn more about the true origin of The Phantom Stranger and his connection to the mysterious Pandora.

TEAM SEVEN - Writer: Justin Jordan. Artist: Jesus Merino.
Set in the early days of DC COMICS-THE NEW 52, threads of the entire DC Universe collide. As Superman emerges, so does the world’s counter measures against him and his kind. Team 7 is comprised of Dinah Lance, Amanda Waller, Steve Trevor, John Lynch, Alex Fairchild, Cole Cash, Slade Wilson — and their story will change everything you know about DC COMICS-THE NEW 52.
Supposidly, they will be cancelling 4 titles as well. Justice League International seems like one. Voodoo, Grifter, Blue Beetle, Resurrection Man, and Fury of Firestorm are all quite low selling as well.
Voodoo has been shit since they kicked off Ron Marz too.

Team 7 sounds like it could be used to re-introduce Gen 13... at least with Fairchild and Lynch and hell even Grifter. But the others make it odd. I kind of wish they would give fans some service by just getting Gen 13 all together and letting them be a team in the DCU...

None are interesting to me, though that may change as more info comes out. Talon seems like a story that's been told 100000 times, Amethyst I never read before, Phantom Stranger was interesting till I saw Didio was writing, Team 7 is ehhh

More on the #0s from the Washington Post
PHILADELPHIA — DC Comics’ heroes are going to zeroes.

In September, DC Entertainment will publish a zero issue for its 52 titles, a move that co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio said this week will help explain the origins and effects of its rebooted characters a year after it erased decades of history and continuity to start everything from scratch.

But, the duo said, zeroing out for the month will create new plots and wrinkles for the likes of Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman, among others, and see the debut of some fan-favorite characters as well as set the stage for more ongoing stories in the months to come too.
so a year after they relaunch all their titles to make them more reader friendly, they are releasing issues to clarify origins and shit /facepalm

What's worse is certain characters didn't really reboot, like Batman and Green Lantern....

I'm pretty sure Batman and Green Lantern didn't reboot. Actually, I think its the same Barry Allen too. They seem to both know about the note from Bruce's father from Flashpoint. Think it was in JL #7. Which could make things even more convoluted if they explain it further.
