I'm pretty sure Batman and Green Lantern didn't reboot. Actually, I think its the same Barry Allen too. They seem to both know about the note from Bruce's father from Flashpoint. Think it was in JL #7. Which could make things even more convoluted if they explain it further.

My guess(excuse to pretend it wasn't all lolrandom) is that flash was affected by the universe merging so his "base" memory as to what should be was altered without him realizing it. Since Batman continuity stayed 99% the same except for the giant penny( or was it the T-rex that dissipated?) when the Flash got back we didn't realize it was actually a new rebooted Batman.

Uncanny X-men was great this week and confirms Cyclops as biggest current Villain with a greater death toll than anyone else barring Thanos, Anihhilus, Galactus in the Marvel universe.
How so you say? Well it's fairly simple. Cyclops has personally sabotaged multiple working attempts to bring back mutantkind because it didn't involve HIM as the mutant behind saving mutantkind. The phoenix has been revealed to be coming to Earth specifically because there can be no more mutants which means if the spell had been bypassed like it would have if not for Cyclops billions of innocent alien lives would not be nothing more than ash.
Now I've heard many say why that doesn't make the Scarlet witch responsible for it but she was purposefully sabotaged by Cyclops with a little help from Patriot later. If she had not been actively sabotaged the spell would have been broken . Thanks to this she is absolved of all guilt for the results of her actions from that moment as it is now on the idiots who stopped the only person capable of fixing their problem from helping them.

Loki has gone to England in a Thrilling adventure where he annoys captain Britain for hours.

And AvX 5 has an um.. interesting plot twist which has made people recoil in horror as they were only joking when they said marvel's going to do everyone is phoenix this time and not expecting it really to be a bad twist like that.

just saying the AVX#5 plot twist is probably the more unexpected part of the arc so far Issues 6 and 7 are all yummy Olivier Coipel art though :D they're reallllly beautiful *__*

also, if anyone's interested in Hulk silliness, Rulk is fighting the Mayans recently to stop the end of the world. ^_^

I've never read Captain Atom but I recently learned the writer is J.T. Krul, who wrote one of the worst stories in the business, JLA Presents: Arsenal. I don't think anyone will be missing Atom.

Did anyone expect AvX to be an amazing storyline? It's just an excuse for a crossover event with their biggest heroes fighting each other. I was just kinda excited about it being 12 issues of Avengers and X-Men punching faces. And it helps that my friend is buying these issues and I'm reading it for free.

Amazing Spider-Man and Batman were pretty freakin awesome imo. Definitely worth picking up.

I guess this takes place before/during AvX 5(I should really read this opening pages). Colossus fought Rulk written by Loeb and art by McGuiness. Pretty art, but typical Loeb preachy nonsense. Meh.
Magik vs Black Widow was a good deal better imo; written by Chris Yost and art by Terry Dodson. Was cool to see Illyana get a bit of limelight against a well known Avenger. Likewise, Black Widow was able to handle Illyana's magic quite nicely It was a little off putting with all the Russian.
Also, the cover has the AR logo but I didn't notice it anywhere on the inside? was strange.

X-Men: Legacy

Frenzy-centric issue. It was actually fairly solid. We got to see a bit of what makes Frenzy tick. We also see the 5 PhoeniX-Men(Im coining this) are trying to use their power to make the world "perfect" for mutants. It was cool to see Frenzy remembering her past as a slave wife in some random African country retells her short, horrible life. I really enjoyed the ending and I think it could potentially lead to a lot of mutants and everyone else rising up against the PhoeniX-Men

Uncanny X-force

Holy geez a lot happened in this issue. Someone is fucking with X-Force and knows all their secrets. Wolverine and Nightcrawler scenes were ok. Mystique and Fantomex throwdown is going to be awesome if it continues next issue. The best was the mind fuck Psylocke went through. Throwing Warren and Jaime hallucinations at her. Betsy isn't a slouch at psychic stuff either, so whoever is doing it must be quite powerful. Can't wait for next issue, as usual.

Also, Steve Holt! reference is awesome. Apparently that was Phil Noto's idea and Remender liked it.

Batman

So, this wraps up the Court of Owls thing. He finally gets to the Owls base only to find them all dead, poisoned by someone. Turns out it is this crazy guy that was actually part of the Court, but was killed by the Court "by mistake". However, this guy was able to revive via the same method all the other Owls did. The guy is totally insane and thinks he is Thomas Wayne Jr. I know Synder's Batman is either loved or hated, but I think it is fantastic and this is the best issue yet.

Amazing Spider-Man

Continuing the Ends of the World storyline. Doc Ock has control of most of the Avengers including Thor, Cap, Iron Man, and Rulk. Mysterio, Rhino, and Doc Ock are also in the mix trying to kill Spidey. One thing I have liked about Dan Slott's run on ASM is he allows Peter to be smart. Often it is overlooked that he is actually really intelligent because he has all his spider powers and what not. Really a fantastic issue and the epilogue in Avenging Spider-Man should clear up if a certain person died or not.

Also, there is a poll at the end of ASM that allows you to vote for your favorite Assistant and/or Associate Editor. One of the choices is our Marvel insider, so you should send an email and support your fellow BGer
Ultimate X-Men

Compared to Ultimates and Ultimate Spider-Man, X-Men has been kind of bleh. I think the problem was it was too all over the place. However, we have a clear story now. Nimrods are attacking the southwest where the remaining mutants have been rounded up in an internment camp. This has pissed Kitty off. We get to see a different Kitty from the 616 in this. I really liked the change in character from scared to determined woman. This issue is a lead in to the upcoming Divided We Fall arc that will span all 3 Ultimate books. Well worth a read

only bad thing is I found out my LCS isn't getting the 1/100 Nick Bradshaw AvX#6 variant featuring Scarlet Witch. Means I will prolly need to pay some crazy price online for it ((

Well, there's a cool little scene I liked In AVX#6 with hope. The rest of the stories will still be centered around her!

I personally just don't like how they took sides, again. sigh. I even expressed that to editorial and they're just like, Cyclops has had it coming for a long time. Though I disagree and I really feel that Issue 1 of AVX, although it was all expected, was very aesthetically well done. I just love Laura Martin's colors on the last spread at the end with the hellicarrier turning visible with such a beautiful sky.

and plus being on the production side of things, I'm actually really impressed none of the issues have been bumped yet XD JRJR really pumped out his last issue while working on hit-girl too, that man is just so amazing.

As for comics I read so far: X-Force, amazing as usual. Steve Holt! by Deadpool killed me. AvX VS was a steaming pile. Colossus was all like, I'm a sad russian ;_; Loeb is just as;ldkhg;alskhd g;alkshd;lask h;ldask. The 2nd story wasn't much better. Half of the dialogue was in russian! Seriously? I understand Natasha and Illiyana are actually russian but their dialogue amounted to filler.

I absolutely loved Peter Parker's silly jokes in this issue. Him sitting in a car driving a criminal had me rolling. Also, I assume that was Ultimate Mysterio that made it to the 616 world. Also enjoyed Peter's WTF mindfuck when people reacted to him in costume in the Ultimate universe.
