AvX 6 shows how the Phoenix Five(ugh) have made the whole word a utopia. They have given places water, electricity, and food. In return, they asked the world to stop petty bickering and whatnot. So, of course, the Avengers feel that eventually they will turn evil and MUST BE STOPPED! Hickman's writing is great in this, but it's becoming more and more apparent that they just wanted to make the Avengers bigger at the expense of the X-Men. The Avengers logic from day one has made no sense, but they keep trying to make it seem like the Avengers are in the right and the X-Men are the next Doom/Kang/etc.
Infinite #6 ties into AvX 6 and is written by Mark Waid. It shows Cyclops dealing with being a Phoenix host. He goes to the blue side of the moon to where Jean killed herself. He creates an image out of her from moon dust that he talks to. Obviously, she represents his subconcious. It's interesting to see how Cyclops is when he isn't super leader guy. He isn't sure of himself, despite what he presents to others. I actually liked this more than AvX 6 or the other tie-ins.
New Avengers tie-in continues the Iron Fist/Phoenix mythos that Bendis decided happened at some point. They hint Hope might take over as Iron Fist(no god no) and the only one that can train her to handle the power of the Phoenix is...Spider-Man? "With great power comes great responsibility" cliche is used, but actually well in this case. Spidey and hope have a bit of a heart to heart at the end of the issue. Still think the ties between Iron Fist and Phoenix are dumb as hell.
Secret Avengers continues the Captain Marvel story. It is mostly narrated by Ms. Marvel. The issue was what you expect from Remender. While it was an AvX tie-in as they had to fight the Phoenix from destroying Hala, it actually had more to do with Carol accepting the Marvel legacy which will, of course, lead into her becoming Captain Marvel. Ms. Marvel and Captain Britain had some nice development. Also, Binary!
Uncanny X-Men setting up some mini arc with Phoenix Cyke and Sinister. Totally forgettable.
Avengers Academy has Emma coming to the Academy to destroy that kids sentinel. Of course, the kids fight back which will lead into the next issue. Also pretty forgettable. Also, I hate how talkie X-23 is. Feels like a totally different character from her solo series.
