It all seemed to make sense to me, except the obviously not-wolverine, but you are reading a comic book, based on a TV series (including lots of tv only characters that are now comic characters magically like they have been the whole time) and complaining about continuity?

It's tied into a MCU event, and as such cannon, so I expect continuity.

It's an actual event. They just announced a ton of different tie-ins for it this past weekend. Also said the teams pictured in the teasers are very fluid and to expect sides to change for some people.

well lets hope they put iron man on the good team this time. Its crazy how i have no desire to read any marvel with hickman and remender gone. Whats going on with the xmen? Is wolverine still headmaster in one book and cyclops leading crazy renegades in another?

All I've really been reading from Marvel atm is ASM, and it's more hate reading because the post Secret Wars series hasn't been that good. And I guess Spider-Miles, since it's still one of the few things Bendis puts out that doesn't suck.

90% of my reading right now is various Image series.

If you aren't reading Omega Men, Vision, and Sheriff of Babylon right now from Tom King...you are truly missing out on some amazing writing. His one shot Green Lantern book during the Darkseid War was amazing as well.

I'll save judgements for books until they're actually in my hands, but the first two issues of this Standoff event have been great. I enjoyed Secret Wars quite a bit. Not everything was a hit, but they put out a ton of really interesting and risky books to see what people would buy. You have to love that. It looks like they're working to undo some things in the world through some stories we're seeing right now...(I personally think we'll have MJ and Pete together by the end of the year)

DC worries me a bit with the Rebirth event and subsequent double issuing with rotating art teams...but again, I still want to see what their plan is. DC has signed quite a few big names to exclusive contracts lately, (RIP VISION TOM KING) so hopefully they let these guys really take control of the characters and pump out some great stories.

I'm glad you liked American Alien, it's one of my favorite Superman stories ever, and we're only 5/7. This last issue was just fucking brilliant. The scenes in the diner with him and Lois debating and Lex's arrogant speech were incredible. Perfect dialogue, which is tricky as fuck and pretty rare in comics. Loved the ending scene with the message to Lex also, I get the feeling this version of Clark is going to be a little more mischievous. Manapul knocked it out of the park as well on art...like he always does.

I'd say my favorites right now, ongoing, would have to be...American Alien, Vision, Omega Men, Clean Room, Sheriff of Babylon, Ringside, Monstress, Huck, All-New Wolverine, Old Man Logan, and Karnak. I pull others depending on my mood or what looks good. Those are my for sure books though. I usually grab Ultimates, Hercules, and I was buying Red Wolf just 'cause of the covers...but I stopped now. Some of my favorite's are ending soon, Vision is only a 12 issue run and it's on 4...Omega Men has one or two books left...AA also has two left. Hopefully there will be some new books to fill out my list as must haves with this new wave of DC books. (hoping for Tom King on a GL or Batman book...Nightwing would be acceptable)

I'll gather up some TPBs of alot of stuff over the last 2 or so years here at some point, but with Remender and Hickman gone from Marvel I'm just not super interested in most of what they're putting out. American Alien has been the only DC series I've been bothering to read since I gave up on Darkseid War halfway thru.

Image I'm probably reading 2 or 3 series a week, dependent on the companies generally random release schedule. The fact that they offer DRM free CBZ files thru their website is a huge benefit in their favor.
