What the fuck is DC doing writing for Marvel now?
What the fuck is DC doing writing for Marvel now?
This is potentially stupider than Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch not being Magneto's kids, and at least that was because of the movies. There's not even a reason to do this.
I wonder if it'll pay off, though. "How do we get more people to buy our comic? I know, we'll completely change the concept!"
Bleh.
Wait, wait. We just had a whole Cosmic Cube storyline with Baron Zemo involved.
I'll wager a lot right now that the past being altered, a la what Red Skull tried to do with the Skip Wilson persona for Falcon, will be involved at the end.
Nick Spencer is a good writer, so be patient and wait to see how it plays out.
By the way, I feel like there will be a Captain America segment on Colbert tonight with the big twist today and Colbert's love of the character.
This is fucking retarded.
Making Cap a Hydra is kinda infuriating. Marvel has made heroes bad to great results, see Superior Spider-Man and Invincible Iron Man. But this...it's like a punch in the face. I cant see Steve as a villain forever, guess we'll have to see where it goes.
Doesn't seem like a Reboot, seems more like the logical continuation after Convergence. We're still in New 52 continuity, but characters from the original DCU are coming back.
This post and talking it over with a friend makes me wonder if we're not just going to have a meta "Reality was rewritten so Cap was always Hydra but that's not the REAL reality because Zemo changed it and now we can undo it later." It satisfies the technicality of "The Real Cap is pro-Hydra" while allowing for a wave away down the road.
Just read Rebirth #1, and Jesus Jones, even knowing it was coming I was still blown away.
Captain America spoiler if we are still spoiling
Spoiler: show
Rebirth was surprisingly good. I'll give a few of those titles a shot, at the very least some sweet sweet Rucka-Wonder Woman action.
Chris Evans does not appear to be a fan of this decision, either.

Speculation: The Watchmen have already been a part of the DCU interacting with the Heroes/Villains

I think the Cap thing is pretty obviously Skull rewriting his memories. His memories in that issue of the kind lady that helped him and his mother were black and white except for one color...red. Skull got to Steve once before and tried brainwashing him right after he got Charles' mental powers, I bet it happened then.
