I thought X-Termination was going to be a cool event, turns out, it was awful!
I thought X-Termination was going to be a cool event, turns out, it was awful!
so DC news
Andy Diggle left Superman before his first issue was even out. Tony Daniel will be using his notes to finish the arc, before he leaves to do other things at DC
Joshua Hale Fiaklov(I, Vampire, Alpha Big Time, soon-to-be-The Ultimates) was going to write Red Lanterns and GL Corps for DC. Editorial stepped in and wanted things changed, so he won't be writing them. Van Jansen and Robert Venditti will be co-lotting Red Lanterns and Charles Soule will be on GL Corps.
Superior Spider-Man definitely picking up heat for whatever the big moment coming in issue 9 will be.
MAA: New Nightcrawler is out. No sign of Fantomex or Black Knight yet though I'd be shocked if Fantomex is anything other than the next PVP reward. NC was revamped greatly as well to go along with the new look. Correction Fantomex is listed but locked on the team page now. His moveset does include E.V.A. as well. Tactician class so he's pretty much a lock to be the new PVP hero as tact is the only class they haven't added through PVP.
I'm also really liking what Hickman has been doing in the Avengers titles so far. The new characters have been pretty interesting so far(are they really new or are these still the same characters from the new universe or whatever it was called just being brought over now?). Also liked seeing the new addition to the X-Force team Cable. They needed a little extra firepower on that team other than Cable and his guns.
So the rumor that was going around my comic shop today was that Age of Ultron is going to be the catalyst for a MU reboot. I definitely hope it isn't true since it doesn't make much sense with Marvel NOW just a few months old, but there is definitely going to be some 'big' thing coming from the end. Joe Quesada stepping in to do the art for the ending and how only a few people actually know what's going on makes me nervous they might do it.
I think someone mentioned here that it'll prolly involve Hank Pym travelling back in time to destroy Ultron, which would definitely lead to a soft reboot to help explain some stuff going on in the MU right now, like Starlord being alive.
Though if they go that route I wonder if Bendis would put enough thought into explaining how the GotG formed without Annihilation : Conquest ever happening.
Totally weird that Neil Gaiman is returning to Marvel to co-write the last issue of Age of Ultron with Bendis, and possibly bringing a Spawn character with him.
I don't know if this backs up the reboot rumor or goes against it.
I don't think it will reboot anything. Marvels continuity isn't nearly as screwy as DCs was(or still is).
Newsarama has a GotG #1 preview
Spoiler: show
They better not reboot Parker into his body yet, Ock is doing a solid work of unmaking Spider-Man and this is refreshing.
Hank Pym is less fun in M:AA when I cant turn huge and step on people yet![]()
MAA: I effing hate PVP soooooooo much. It enrages me. But then I saw Warbringer Axe is in the roulette. Guess I gotta PVP...
Saga #11 was so good. All the post coital talk between Marko and Alana was hilarious. Double that with the sneak attack Private Eye from BKV and I don't even know! He's the best. Blown away by his world building skills as a writer.
Gaimen is not co-writing the last issue of AoU but his character that he finally won back from Todd McFarlane is appearing at the end. But HE IS co-writing GotG #5 with Bendis.

As for Marvel rebooting, I don't think they will. They just started Marvel Now and I can't say they are floundering in any way like DC.
A reboot at this point doesn't really make much sense. I can see the events rebooting certain aspects of the universe perhaps but a complete reboot? Can't see that happening.
You know what DC needs to do... relaunch freaking Gen13 instead of 90% of these bullshit titles. It could be DC's version of the X-Men.

There are plans for a Marvel NOW! Wave 2 — a new wave of titles that will generate the same amount of excitement amongst retailers and fans that the first wave did. From “Uncanny Avengers” to “Thanos Rising,” Marvel NOW! has been a hit, and we’re far from done. Look for exciting new series, starting in July and carrying through next year.

We’ll be making an announcement soon about a three intriguing limited series, featuring eyebrow-raising talent, that fall under the creative umbrella of a much-loved sub-brand. I’m not at liberty to say much more.

If you’ve ever wondered what might have happened if the Phoenix Force had found a different host than Cyclops, Emma Frost, Namor and Colossus in last year’s biggest super hero event, then you’ll want to read “What If? Avengers Vs. X-Men,” a 4-issue limited series, written by Jimmy Palmiotti and illustrated by Jorge Molina that ships weekly this July.
