So how bout them cash grab 'free2play' games? I just love being limited to what I can do unless I subscribe or buy my way through. I can understand to limit rmt shit, but come' on. I love SDGO(SD Gundam Capsule Fighter) but OGplanet shouldn't have been the ones to obtain it.

The amount of astros(their currency) feels limited for a $20 amount. Hell SOE did a triple station cash thing back in december for EQ2 etc... and I bought AOD LE and DOV just for the hell of it with a 3 month non-recurring sub. That's how you do it.

Want to know a bad way to f2p shit? Look at Europe, it's Aion is going f2p this year and it's restrictions are horrendous.

Hmm, bitching... I guess my biggest gripe would be the lack of jRPGs over the past few years, and those that have come out are often on the DS and/or remakes of older games. Radiant Historia was the last "new" RPG I played, and even while going through that, it felt like 1/3 of the game had been chopped off (Basically everything involving the desert empire) with timeline interaction scaled back in kind. I still liked the game, and the story drew me in, but I'm not afraid to say it could've been better.

I agree with this - the lack of really well done RPGs is pretty frustrating. The last one that I played that I really truly enjoyed - that was JRPG style - was The Last Remnant. Battle system was a bit clunky at times but it was very innovative and the story was very well done imo - people will disagree but I enjoyed it.

Companies producing the same game over and over every year (I'm looking at you MW/THPS/GH/RB/any sports) and meatheads continually buying it just because it's the 'latest and greatest' even though it's just the same game as the year before with new online servers.

Also, fuck you Blizzard for not releasing diablo 3 yet. Been waiting 10 years for that shit. Get it done.

More mmorpg developers need to look at the update/patch schedule that Trion uses for Rift, they show real effort in continually improving the game.

I agree, although, holy shit, did the protagonist ever say some ridiculous things at times. (Come on, let's kick some "A"!) On that note, I hate it when characters in RPGs yell cheesy lines or announce their cheesy moves during battle. I'm looking at you, Infinite Undiscovery and Tales series. It's just so awkward. I won't play games like that unless I'm alone. >_>

Having endured the early days of video game voicing, I guess I'm largely immune to dub work or move-calling or taunts. Unfortunately, the alternatives tend to either involve sticking to grunting, having a few lines for a given move for some slight variety, and a currently non-existent dynamic that otherwise weighs the conditions of a conflict and gets the characters dynamically conversing based on a given party member's personality.

Anyway, I just wish wRPGs typically weren't so ugly, too reliant on D&D systems, or weren't an FPS with an RPG coat of paint. It'd expand the possible play pool a little, though I'm in agreement that it seems companies are fixed on regurgitating given titles yearly.

I don't particularly mind it when it's in something other than English. Even if I dislike it, it's much easier to ignore. For the same reason, I don't mind the excessive grunting or moaning in battles these days, either. Voice acting for these games must feel silly though, lol.

    Spoiler: show
You said you could just spam x, then he pointed out you generally have to do more than just spam x and then you claimed that... you didn't say that even though he quoted you saying it. Then you continued to argue it even though he had a quote right there instead of just going 'my bad' like any rational person.

Keep it up, lots of laughs my friend.
Really, are you really all this bad at reading? In what form of english does "spamming x" mean "only hitting x". This entire fucking argument has been a strawman of what I originally said. Go ahead and quote me saying "You can beat KH by only pressing x". Go ahead and quote me saying "The game is easy if you only press x". You can't, because I didn't.

Lol @ that video, he's still using curaga (which you wouldn't have to do as much if you played properly), so what were you trying to prove? Also, I'd love to see that fly on Phantom or Xenmas, which are the actually challenging fights in the KH1. Hell, even Kurt Zisa would be a bitch to deal with, maybe even Ice Titan too.
He's using curega by pressing x, genius. What was I trying to prove? That you're a retard. He just beat a boss by using only x (and sometimes L1, which was in the quote of my original post.), which is what you incorrectly called me out for. If you can do that with a boss, you can do that with regular enemies. You said it can't be done, and now that I found a video of it you're backpedaling with "well I bet it can't be done with a harder enemy." Hell, he didn't even use any abilities, which are activated by pressing x on them. (Ragnarok, Strike Dash, etc)

Never mind that that form of play has nothing to do with what I first mentioned. I was talking about rectangles, and you called me out for squares. That video tells your square argument to shut the fuck up. And you've never done anything about the rectangles. I expect this analogy to go over your head, because you can't understand anything.

Really, I've had enough of going along with your strawman. By playing the way I mentioned in my original post, you can still jump. You can still glide. You can still cast magic. You can still lock on. You can still dash. You can still block. You can still press triangle.

Here's every single one of my posts. Go ahead and bold where it says only press x. And before you go full retard again remember, "mashing x all day long" does not mean that.

    Spoiler: show

Just watching someone play that game made me want to drill a hole in my head. Neptunia did the same thing for me though...I actually watched my gf fall asleep while mid-battle in neptunia and still win the fight by spamming X and i guess L1?
Reminds me of so many other rpgs. Final Fantasy line and KH you could just spam x all day long if you wanted to. I wonder what the difference is. If only all games could have a battle system as cool as LotD.
If only Terra's story was in KH1, 1.5, or 2. I question you playing the game if you think you can't just spam x for plenty of fights in the game. In fact, I'm fairly positive that's how I handled plenty of battles. Especially defenders, if you spammed x you'd hit their shield and immediately attack again, repeat until they screwed up. It's so easy to go through so many battles by spamming x; while farming for crafting that's exactly what I did.
First off, you're using incorrect terms. Button mashing != pressing only one button. I used to play MvC2 by button mashing when I was younger, and I sure as hell didn't only press one button.

Second, your demand is stupid and unrelated to anything I said. You're asking for a single-button run-through which is not what I said. Why not add no control stick while you're at it too. Why would I be disallowed from jumping, why would I be disallowed from locking on? I did not say press x, only x, and nothing but x. I simply said spam x.
Except it's not, you're just pretending I said something I didn't. Did I say it was easy to beat the entire game by pressing only x? Did I say boss battles would be easy? No. Did you people honestly never play KH while tired or with one hand? All normal enemies in the game can killed by just running around and attacking. I've gone through hundreds upon hundreds of battles doing nothing but that. Most notably while farming for crafting ingredients.

I've played through to ~100% at least 3 times minimum, and I sure as hell know I didn't imagine being able to farm crafting ingredients by spamming attack.
Yes, I said spam x. Not press only x. Do you see where you're mistaken yet? Seriously, stop pretending I said things I didn't.

In the original post I was making a comparison to the possible battle styles of the games. In KH there are plenty of times while playing where you can literally only hit x, like farming. There are plenty of battles where you mash x a majority of the time. (Just disabled boss by attacking his weak point? Spam x until he gets up!) And there are plenty of battles where you have to do more than that. And then there are games where you can't ever just mash x, like LotD, because you have to time your attacks. That is the distinction I was making.
It only seems that way because you have the reading comprehension of a goat. I said x, you think I said y. That's pretty much it. Apparently this is too hard for you to understand.
More examples of horrible reading comprehension. I do love LotD's battle system, but I like KHs more. Where did you see me say I prefer LotD's battle system? I'll give you a hint; it's not in any of my posts because you imagined me saying it, just like everything else.
Continuing to attack my statement because you think it means something else is more ridiculous, frankly. There is nothing wrong with making that type of comparison, especially since I wasn't trying to support some type of argument. (Never mind the fact that LotD is much more interactive than a simple turn-based attack system.) It was just a god damn observation. Why you have to get your panties in a bunch is beyond me.

Regardless, I'm done with derailing this thread because people have to nitpick tiny details for no reason, and then be wrong anyway. And unlike you, I'm not going to come back into the thread after you eventually reply to continue arguing with you after I say I'm done.

Stopping short because I think I just figured out why you people are being retarded. Are you honestly thinking I mean "only press x" by "just spam x"? Please tell me this didn't happen because you people think that reading is the only one and that this wasn't a semantics argument. That's one of the definitions of just, but it's not the one I was using.

    adverb
    9. within a brief preceding time; but a moment before: The sun just came out.
    10. exactly or precisely: This is just what I mean.
    11. by a narrow margin; barely: The arrow just missed the mark.
    12. only or merely: He was just a clerk until he became ambitious.
    13. actually; really; positively: The weather is just glorious.
This is the way I was using the word just, not 12. If I wanted to use the meaning of number 12 I would have said "only" or "solely".

Were you people really stupid enough to pick that one sentence out of all my posts and think it overwrote every single other post I made, including the original post? You have one ambiguous sentence due to the word just, and then in every other single instance I say "spam x" and you somehow think I don't mean "spam x" and that I mean "only spam x"? Jesus fucking christ go back to grade school. The fact that I was saying I didn't say that should have been enough of a clue to figure out that you're using the wrong one. The original post did not have that ambiguity. This should not have been a problem.

You know what, it doesn't even matter because that video right there is an example of winning a battle by only spamming x. You called me out on something I didn't mean, and I provided proof that it can be done anyway. It doesn't matter if it's "Not the correct/proper way to play", it can be done.

Huh? The original post is entirely the whole problem. You were wrong, got called out for it, and now you're back pedalling like a mother fucker. You made dumb ass comparisons and then later tried to justify yourself. Get out.

As for the video, if you want to go to the original post of L1 and X, I'll accept it. 1 Instance of beating a (not very difficult) boss by "spamming X (and L1)". But I guess it is acceptable, as the exception.

Also, I like how you said that you wish all games could have a battle system as cool as LotD, then you say you like KH's battle system more a few posts later. I wonder why when you bash one game and put another on a pedestal someone would think you didn't like game x as much as game y.

Series that ADD between console/PC releases and portable releases because it's cheaper to make portable games. Fuck that shit. Is it really such a big surprise that games whose budgets are stripped down end up selling poorly? You have to spend money to make money.

DLC and microtransactions. Expansion packs being released as full games at full price. Oppressive DRM that breaks everything while doing nothing to stop determined pirates. The removal of LAN gameplay as an "Anti-piracy measure".

"Accessibility". If you want to make games that middle aged housewives can play, that's fine. Make games for them. Leave franchises whose intended audiences are not middle aged housewives the fuck alone. For certain companies, stop using accessibility as an excuse to be lazy as all fuck and ultra-simplify your games. I am looking right the fuck at you, Bioware. There is one fucking dungeon map in Dragon Age 2. ONE. Fuck you. Just, Fuck you.

I hate things like "game passes" for online mode. If you buy the game brand new you don't have a problem, but if you like to buy used (i do i mean its kinda hard to pass up B2G1or2 sales) You can get games on the cheap but to access online mode you have to pay an addition X amount to play online. Its bullshit.
