SWTOR: Random Complaint thread. F2P means P2Win

So I am level 22 now and starting to struggle with some of the harder enemies. Dying a lot more than I used too and even had to leave a battle last night and give up. (Lord Rothari for anyone who's played Sith Warrior story) Am I just under-geared or just need to learn to play better? I haven't done any PVP...only done a couple flashpoints. I have been avoiding grouping with people since I've been enjoying doing stuff solo. Also, are blind invites pretty standard in this game? I seem to get a ton of them. Not a word from the other person, just invite. My old FFXI self is just auto-declining those...but maybe I should be more open minded. lol

The game does a lot of hand holding for you until around level 25ish when things can get a tad more difficult. Master using your interrupts and it will save you from many hard boss fights. And if you are fighting anything that can use force lightning you had best be using those interrupts or they will rape your face before you know it.

I just got my first real interrupt move (not counting smash or force scream since those tend not to stun hard enemies)...learning how to use it now. :D

There was a PvP guild and a PvE guild. I forget where the PvP guild went/ended up, but the PvE guild is on the Shadowlands.

When you're levelling, it's critical to ensure your companion's gear is uptodate too. It can make a huge difference to ease of quest and mission completion.

The companion you use anyway. I had a coworker bitching to me last week how he was so broke and can never make money. When I asked him what he doing he told me he was doing things like making sure his companions all had great gear, even the ones he never used. 'cause you know, I might need them'. . .

Each class basically only needs one based off spec.

Once you get a healer pet, there's no point in gearing the others until you're geared out at 50 (and have purchased access to artifact armor...). Just go full DPS when you level with a healer pet + be smart and use defensive abilities.

Are the BG folks republic or empire? I assume that matters, only level 24 on my main so I haven't had any experience doing guild stuff yet. I have had some pretty crappy luck the last two days attempting heroics with random shouts...people just charging in the middle of 8 enemies, getting us all killed, and then leaving without ever saying a word. >.>

Most are probably Imp, if I remember correctly. I was one of the pub players on a random ass server away from everyone.

Additionally, in an upcoming patch (no exact date yet, but players won’t have to wait long), Preferred Status Players will be given four (4) additional character slots, which means that they will have a total of six character slots. As always, Free-to-Play Players can reach Preferred Status simply by purchasing anything from our online store or purchasing a physical copy of the game.

Last but not least, I wanted to share the news that the 50 character limit on Global Active Characters for Subscribers will be removed and increased substantially in the same, aforementioned patch. If you wanted to, you can truly create your own army of Troopers or a legion of Sith Warriors.

On November 15th we launched one of the biggest initiatives in our game since we opened the doors back in December of last year. Our new Free-to-Play option has allowed for many brand new and returning players to check out the changes that we’ve made to the game over the past year.

One of the most important things to us is to hear player feedback on their game experience. Our community team truly has an ear to the ground with community concerns and discussions and we often make changes based on player feedback.

When Game Update 1.5 hit Public Test Server (PTS), we listened to your concerns and we increased Quickbars from one to two for Free-to-Play Players, increased Warzones from three to five per week, and reduced the temporary bind on Cartel Market items.

We want you to know that this is an ongoing dialogue.

I joined my first group yesterday, gotta get that social point quest to disappear, and I was doing that with my Knight. Just leaping into large packs of mobs & letting the others clean them up as my droid tanked.

I'm on the Shadowlands, currently working on my fifth character, and I've made it just fine this whole time without a guild on any of my guys. But I am only playing the storylines and haven't done any raids or endgame stuff. I do PVP and Flashpoints sometimes and they can be fun if not repetitive. So far I've done Bounty Hunter, Jedi Knight, Sith Inquisitor, Smuggler, and currently working on Sith Warrior.

If SWTOR introduced a "single player" server. Where you're completely in your own instance for the story line, and you have the f2p cartel purchases to gain access to multiplayer options, would you be more inclined to pay?

Just sucks that after playing through most of the storylines it was at the point where I had people rush me through for legacy buffs (Lookin' at you, consular. You and your horrible storyline). If/When they release the new planet and level cap increase, I'll consider going back and testing the waters for the hell of it.

That actually would've been a better idea than the bullshit they have there now for F2P.

The BGers have a guild on both Repub and Imp. Though we are typically on Imp. I will say we are a small guild (10ish people) with about half of them only Raid logging.
