I guess I'm kinda lucky because I usually find my electrical/computer engineering books. I always, ALWAYS end up in some indian website w/ rapidshit links. Fuck paying 200+ bucks per book man.

Never had any problems w/ any vendors. If they fuck up they are quick to refund/apologize. Goes both ways, once I had a buyer send a check lol.

Just find a seller on ABE books or some such website that will sell you text books from Singapore / Hong Kong / ect.

They cost 10-15% of the price you pay here and are 99.9% the same including the same UPC codes. They just say on the back page that they are intended for xxx country.

I bought all my college books this way and I made around $1.5k over 4 years selling these books back to the university library (had no problem since they have the same UPC code and that's all they really check).

Didn't read the thread, but I've bought numerous books for a penny in the past. It's not a scam. And fuck, if it was, what are you going to be out? $4 total? It's fine though, don't worry about it.

A valueless book is wasted inventory space, but a sale on Amazon may mean positive feedback for the seller, which makes the effort expended in shipping it to you worthwhile.

I have bought probably 20+ items on Amazon over the last year that have selling prices of 1 cent to .25 cents + shipping and have not had a problem with any of them.

Ratings seem to be pretty legit on there.

Because every single person in India not working in tech support works in pimping DDL links. I swear it's true. Used to think they were Russian, but nope, all Indian.

Well, selling them for $4 isn't a scam. The industry itself is, of course.
