Also, milkster, if your so against this so called mutilation (I dunno if you said it or someone else), yet they look the same to you, what's the issue? As someone else said, there's nearly no chance of harm due to the procedure. You want to just give people the chance to decide for themselves or whatever, yet what is the difference (inb4more sensitive, I don't really think that's an issue).

Considering the health benefits (or rather lack thereof) and the overall non-reason for it as well, are you against little girls getting their ears pierced via mom?

I just don't get the "barbaric" or "mutilation" arguments. Is it solely because a parent is making the decision for a child? That happens every day for a parent. Do you get this fired up about tattoos and piercings? It's cosmetic mutilation, after all. Is it because some consider it a religious rite? First amendment, bitches. Is it because people do it so their boys fit in with the crowd? Well excuse the fuck out of me for not wanting to be the father of the weird kid with the sandworm dick.

i'm not really fired up about it, and cosmetic changes that people do to themselves are their own choices for purely cosmetic reasons, so that is not really the same thing.

Why do babies get their ears pierced other than to be aesthetically pleasing to the parents, just like being circumcised. The reason I'm against it is because it a ridiculous tradition which is outdated and useless. If you're saying people do it because it is more socially accepted, well vaginal mutilations are also a common practice in 3rd world countries. Does that make it right? I was making the point that they look the same is because what's the point to cut it off?
