You need to keep it moist in cool water for 10-15 minutes after a burn happens, don't put butter or oils or shit on it. Don't put ice or extremely cold water. After you treat it with cool water cover that shit with a loose fitting gauze that isn't linty. No fluffy cotton shit.
Take pain relievers. Don't pop the blister even tho it's fun to poke.
Source [The fact I'm a fucking certified EMT]
Oh I forgot the keep it raised part, do that too.
Also that's for first degree and second degree burns that aren't bigger than 3 inches, if they're bigger go to the doctor. If it's a third degree burn you did some shit and you need to call an EMT or get your ass to the ER because you just cooked yourself.
but uh, if it's a third degree burn don't take off any clothing that's on the burn, keep it elevated, and don't immerse it in water. Just cover it in a cool rag and enjoy the burned flesh until you can get medical attention.
Thanks Odon! I learned something new :D
pop it and have your husband jizz in your blister wound
probably doesn't matter anymore, BUT DO YOU LIVE SO FAR IN THE WOODS YOU CAN'T ACCESS A WALGREENS OR SOME SHT?
Fuck the home remedies and get one of these for next time:

Toothpaste worked fine for me the one time I tried it, but my burn was really mild, didn't even have a blister. It felt cooling. I also did all the cold water stuff first.
bengay on balls
here's the story:
i have a gas range. the top of it looks nearly identical to this:
http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/...905-large.jpeg
i boiled some water on one of the burners (the grey part), and was also cooking something in the oven at the time. i thought the burner had cooled down adequately for me to pick it up to clean under it, but fucking totally forgot that the burner i'd boiled water on and wanted to clean, is also the burner that gets stupid fucking hot when i have the oven on. wrapped my hand around it to pick it up,
holy
fucking
christ.
so now i have burns on the inside of my hand, on all of my fingers and part of my thumb, that start at the top of the second finger joint and go all the way to my palm. i couldn't open or close my left hand, which kind of made driving more difficult. i live in an area where all the stores close at 7pm (thanks military, fuck you too!) so after 7pm i actually have to get on the interstate and go about 5 miles to the next exit (and then some) to get to the nearest drug store. i wasn't confident in my ability to drive myself anywhere without the use of one hand. i mean, i don't drive with 2 hands all the time, but it just didn't seem smart to tempt fate.
i did the cool water thing for a long time after i burned the hand, and even held a bag of ice (wrapped in a towel so it wouldn't be like HOLY FUCK COLD) for several hours afterwards, but any time my skin started to get close to room temperature, the pain was seriously pretty fucking bad. it was the kind of pain that hurts so much you can't really even do much except just make noise. at the same time, it felt really fucking stupid to do something like call 911 over a damn burn where i touched the fuckin hot stove. nothing short of exposed bone, loss of copious amounts of blood, or loss of consciousness seems 911-worthy to me. my mom dialed 911 a decent amount when i was a kid for various medial shit that turned out not to ever really be serious, so i kind of shy away from doing that. in the end, in order to go to sleep, i took some tylenol with codeine that i had left over from dental surgery, and slept with my hand in a pitcher of cold water that i put on the floor next to my couch.
the mustard worked inasmuch as it was a nice cold paste that didn't dry quickly, that i could just blow on or wave around to sufficiently re-cool it. i'm not sure if it actually had any kind of effect on the blistering, although today it's pretty minimal.
oh i should note
the electric kettle crowd is just eating this shit up
that was the note right
after i held the ice for a while, the skin seemed totally fine in terms of pain. didn't hurt too terribly, was able to bend my fingers a little bit, nothing that severe. could let my hand be at room temperature, no problems. then... i applied the toothpaste. there was no cooling sensation. at first it felt like nothing, and then it very suddenly felt like the most intense fucking burning sensation ever. it felt like i was grabbing the hot stove all over again, and not even going back to the ice fixed it. i just wanted to sit there and fucking scream. for hours afterward, nothing i did helped reduce the pain, except when i tried liberally lotioning the fuck out of my hand and then putting a wet paper towel around the bag of ice to keep it from drying out the lotion. i thought the toothpaste may have just dried out my skin, so i figured LET'S MOISTURIZE. that actually did dial the bullshit back a bit.
i was boiling chicken
well chicken bones
MAKING BROTH
sometimes the level of domesticity in my life is embarrassing.
Was this all performed in an apron, heels and with makeup on? If not you can domesticated a bit more.
