I like it so far. I hope they are able to introduce some more questions other than "Where have they been/Who dun did it" otherwise as soon as that's answered, they may be scavenging for something else to follow. And if they don't answer it quickly, it may get dragged out and people will lose interest.

Um... you wanted to ban me because i don't stay up-to-date on forum news...? And here I thought ppl only got banned for infractions. I guess asking honest answers can get ppl almost banned also. I guess I'll just torrent stuff instead of coming to BG for failed dvr'd episodes.

Anyways. Just finished watching both episodes. I like the premise, but if 90% of the episodes turn into the "villain of the week" type stuff and follow the same format as the first two w/small reveals at the end to try to keep ppl watching, I don't think I will last long. I mean I know there will be the major plot moving episode every here and there, but I've seen enough "X of the week" shows and don't need another

Well, there are series that do a good job at this, and then there's the series that just filler the shit out of every season.

So far I'd say this could end up like Fringe, which has quite a good pace as far as progressing the plot goes imo while still following the monster of the week format.

Caught up to my DVR on this. Needs scenes of Sarah Jones running in every episode.

I tend to agree with you on most shows, but the very premise of this series is set up to lend itself to a villain of the week type of story, while allowing for overall plot advancement. I tend to have more hope for this, even if it does follow a standard procedural in many ways.
There's another show coming up this spring -- The River -- that sounded very cool, but as it turns out, is going to be a mystery of the week type of thing. I think that show is bound for failure with that format; this one at least has a fighting chance.

They just need to keep stuff fresh and maybe not catch every baddie each week. Would be cool if they randomly fail to catch a few guys and then all of those villains come for them at once. I liked the episodes, but there will need to be some variety outside of : introduce new villain > flashbacks > plot reveal.

At least the first guy wasn't really all that bad. Yeah he came back and was fuckin pissed at some ppl, but had some compassion for him over the serial shooter who was typical bad guy

It's Fringe again, grats to fans that will get the same show again after the original gets cancelled. Kind of like what will happen to CSI soon.

What I really find stupid is these guys come back after how many years, and just go back to doing their original crimes like nothing happened? I really hope they explain this cus its kinda dumb lol. It better be something like brain washing etc.

Well from their perspective, they were in jail one day and the next they arnt. Between this episode and the preview of the next, flavor of the week still holds but it seems to deviate from the 'bad guy gets caught every week in a predictable manner' already, so very fast and nice change.

Dont like 90% of people released commit the same crime and get sent back to jail?

Well at least in the first two episodes I could see both of them having a motive... one is blind of anger and the other a nutcase with urges to kill. Plus the first dude seemed to do some extra killings for reasons "he didn't know", as if possessed.

I understand these guys are all coming back and what-not. But does anybody else find it super odd that they seem to be super well off? First guy had a ton of cash on him and a random alcatraz visitors ticket? I mean he looked surprised to see all that stuff, but that fact kinda messes w/ the mythology of some crazy act having caused all of this. Then the second guy buys some guns and a hotel room and all that stuff w/cash? These guys are coming back w/ some serious bank in their pockets. (haven't seen the 3rd episode yet to see how financially well off he is)

I just wont some more plot development and not just the psycho of the week. Thankfully it looks like we'll get some more plot development next week.

You're assuming that this "event" was a crazy act and not orchestrated by someone/some group. In fact, since they are all "well off" and kind of given what they need suggests that someone is behind this.

They have mentioned that they are doing what they were "told to do" so we know that they were given instructions and provided the means to accomplish them.

That's what I mean. Somebody is obviously behind all this and like had all the prisoners cryogenically frozen or some shit

Yea all this seems to suggest that this phenomenon is not a natural occurring event and that someone is behind this mess. I'm hoping once the chick wakes up, they delve more into what the cause is since she was also apart of the past as some psych Dr for Alcatraz.

The fact is that most network execs would rather see a "freak of the week" type set up, especially early in a series so they can get people to watch and then ramp up the hardcore serialization/mythology. It just allows people to find the show and get into it rather than what happened with Lost where people who missed a few early episodes either "tried" or just said "fuck it".

The River just came off to me more like the "limited series" to me. Kind of like what Harper's Island was last year and what Missing will be later this spring. They are definitely trying to make more and more of these type of cool one off limited series for fill-ins for spring and summer schedule holes. I hope we see more of these. I really miss the old school week or two long mini-series that I grew up with. Can't say they have made anything like Taken ever since and its still a wonderful memory.

Thought episode was boring. Unless they start drastically changing up the formula I don't see how the how will last long. I'm alrdy losing interest. Really only feel like i only need to tune into the last 10 minutes of an episode to see any plot development since everything before then is pretty moot

I'm starting to get this feeling too. Next weeks story could be worth watching, but yeah it seems like Prisoner comes back, you learn his story, they catch him, then they move the plot along in the last ten minutes. Since we now know what the Keys were used for, I am starting to wonder if:

    Spoiler: show

The keys were made in the present
