WTS: Radeon HD 5870 and a Dell Latitude D620 laptop

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to offload a couple things that I'm finding myself without a use for. I don't have access to pictures at this very moment as I am at work, but I can certainly provide them later if needed.

Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 with aftermarket Zalman cooler.

I bought this card not long after it came out and used it for a little more than a year. At that point I built a completely new box. Not long after I got the card, the fan on the stock heatsink got really noisy so I pulled the whole thing off and replaced it with a nice Zalman aftermarket heatsink/fan combo. The cooler came with cheap thermal tape for attaching the RAM heatsinks, but I assure you I did it right and used thermal epoxy instead. Those fuckers are on there to stay, lol.

The only downside to this aftermarket heatsink/fan unit is that it makes the card consume 3 expansion slots, so if you're interested in this card, please make sure ahead of time you have the space in your PC for it.

Dell Latitude D630 recert. laptop. - SOLD

My company bought an assload of these laptops for a good price in mid 2011, but it turns out we overbought. So, quite a few of them became Christmas bonuses for our IT staff. It's a recertified unit, which means it was purchased then returned to Dell for some reason before my company bought it. It's in perfect condition, never used except to wipe and reload Windows XP on it. I'm getting rid of it because I simply can't find a use for it myself.

Here's the specs:
Core 2 Duo 1.83ghz CPU
2GB DDR2 SDRAM, 667mhz
80GB HD (probably 5400rpm but not sure)
Integrated Intel video
14.1" screen
Integrated 802.11g wireless
Windows XP Professional

Keep in mind, THIS IS NOT A GAMING LAPTOP. Don't expect shit from this thing in terms of gaming, it's a light-use office/school laptop only really.

Asking $150 shipped. "New" ones are going for $200-$250 without counting shipping. Pretty solid deal for someone that doesn't need a heavy-duty machine.

Just wondering, has that model been refurb'd from Dell? I know my model (D630) was recalled last year due to the faulty/overheating designs but I fixed it with the copper shim/fan upgrade mod. They are still great laptops for basic work/browsing and what not. I might be tempted to buy it for a family member.

Yeah, it was re-furb'd by Dell ... all the units were that my company bought. All of the ones we actually used from that purchase have been completely reliable.

I believe you meant to ask if it had been RECALLED by Dell ... to the best of my knowledge, no, it was not. There's reports that the early models had issues with the LCD screens, and with the standalone nVidia GPU's they eventually shipped with, but this is a much later model and shouldn't be afftected by the LCD issue. Also, it has integrated Intel GMA video, not nVidia, so that issue won't be present either.

This implies that you're aware of its exact length, so I'm curious: what is it? I often find it hard to find the dimensions of cards on manufacturer's websites.

Yep, measured it yesterday. It's 11.1" inches long, about the longest single-GPU card out there.

I'm going to retract the 5870. An RL friend contacted me this morning because his card died, so I'm going to sell it to him. Sorry and thanks for your help again, BG!
