Because the game series could forever be about a group of cops getting stuck in a mansion/lab over, and over, and over again. The story evolved, and gameplay to go with it. I'm sure as fuck glad it moved to the action orientated game play of RE4.

Now they just need a better story then 5, which they look to have, and hopefully they fix the babysitting on 5 too. Do those two things and I'm a happy camper.

I'm glad for the better gameplay. It's been said a lot, but when was RE truly horror (due to it actually being scary, and not shitty controls) and not action-based? Again, the games have been going the action route ever since RE2 and 3. The gameplay looks good, so I dunno what you people are whining about. Certainly better than some tank controlling shit we had years ago.

RE has hardly ever been scary. It has a few shocks now and then, but it's always been about killing shit, cheesy dialogue, mediocre stories and fucking awesome mutants trying to ruin your day.

This. And honestly the only thing terrifying about the old RE games were the damn controls.

That will be the easiest $90 on vidya games I will ever spend. I only own RE4 (Wii) at the moment, and have been wanting to play the gold edition of RE5.

People think this looks bad? Shit looks great. As long as it isnt a RE game where they load so much ammo on you that you never have to run from shit, that's the most fun in RE games, when you look at how many bullets you have and at all the zombies and go "oh fuck...I need to leave"

So you mean every single RE game starting at 4 and up?

They've replaced puzzles with choppy dodging animations that look entirely out of place, they made the game more run and gun instead of making you plan out how you're going to take on the next area/room, and also added fucking quick-time events (also since 4 and up).

I liked the original RE's and I like the newer RE's. The game would have to be truly terrible for me not to enjoy it. I like the characters and I like the story. Sometimes that's enough to overlook shitty game play. Leon is God.
