They've replaced puzzles with choppy dodging animations that look entirely out of place, they made the game more run and gun instead of making you plan out how you're going to take on the next area/room, and also added fucking quick-time events (also since 4 and up).

4 had the quick time events, but I still felt overwhelmed by all the villagers and shit in 4 at least, unlike 5 where it felt like I had access to a military arsenal and just blew them away nonstop w/o taking a breath. The run and gun feel is fine when you're doing more running then gunning because you only have 5 bullets left and there are 30 zombies in an area. I'm all for blowing through the shit hardcore style on repeat plays when you unlock the super weapons, that shit is fun, but the first playthrough I want it to be hard as fuck

4 definitely had that feeling. 1/3 the way thru re5 and you already were just playing for the story since the game was on ez mode and gave you a shitton of ammo and health items.

You could still get overwhelmed just by sheer numbers but I never had any problem with ammo in 4 even on the highest difficulty without any of the super weapons or whatever. I can't remember how often I found health items but I didn't really have a problem with those either.

The only reason I could see a person having ammo issues was if you were just terrible at the game. I.E. always going for body shots or missing. Once you got any semblance of skill in the game, which should only take about an hour, you were pretty much set.

This is all in reference to 4. I liked 4 for what it was, but it didn't feel like an RE to me, mostly because of the story but the gameplay certainly wasn't helping. Keeping in mind that I liked 4, I still think this one looks like a pile of shit. The dodging animations look retarded, you apparently don't even need to headshot anymore, a ton of quick-time events, and what looks like sub-par gameplay even for an action game.

If it gets decent reviews I'll get it on Gamefly but I'm certainly not holding my breath for a decent RE experience.

Was Capcom solely responsible for Operation Raccoon City or were they just the publishers? Because that is exactly what this looks like, only slightly better. And slightly better than shit is still awful.

Also is there a new strain of t-virus that makes the zombies run fast or are they just retconning that in?

As far as the virus goes, every RE pretty much has a new virus so it wouldn't be so unexpected to see some type of new virus or hybrid virus going around.

I remember playing co-op with my buddy on RE5. He kept yelling at me because I only used the RPG the entire game. Made him rage quit a few times just because I felt like being a dick.
